Not really a broadband question but it does apply to MTN.

My phone (Nokia 6101) has a feature which you can send a MMS to an email address (MMS-to-Email I think they call it). I just tested it now by sending a pic to my email address - still haven't received it.

So does MTN support mms-to-email?
Anything I have to enable first?

I see thats how the overseas moblogs do it, rather than specifying an email client.

Have you set up and used any regular e-mail from your phone yet?

Yes, the phone has an email client and I prefer to use that.

I think it is easier to tell people who aren't that computer literate to just send an MMS to an email address, rather than going through SMTP, POP settings - hence why I'm testing this first.

The email still hasn't come through though - maybe I should try a different email address? Has anyone else problems with MMS-to-Email?

I am also testing MMS to email across the 3 Networks. Vodacom works 100%, so does Cell C, but MTN's MMS's doesn't come through. I have tried to contact their Call Centre, but this is just non-existant. I spent hours holding...,it really is the most crap service I've come around. Anybody know why the MMS's won't come through

Sent an mms to myself after reading your post, took just over 5 minutes to arrive. Now there seems to be no way to send one back. ie. [email protected] does not work

Hi I take it that mms.mtm is just a spelling mistake on your posting...

when you receive an mms it says [email protected] so a person knows an mms was sent from your phone.

To send it is a phone option send mms to email address - that being my own or whoever you are sending to.

Noswal, the response i have got so far from the MMS support is sending MMS to a handset from a outside mail server is in deed blocked. Trying to gather some more information around the problems experienced when sending from a mobile.

Ok, I sorted out my problem: when sending an MMS email to my Hetzner hosted account, is came up as spam and put in the spambucket, which I don't normally check.

When I tried sending it to gmail, it worked. So for those still having problems, check that any spam filters aren't blocking it out.
