WBS shares change hands

yeah, but is anyone else worried about the Vodacom connection here? Whilst I know we cannot necessarily compare Jnr. to Sr. you have to wonder wether or not over a sunday roast the topic of one of Vodacom's biggest competitors in the broadband market isnt going to come up in conversation.

I think Vodacom are aligning themselves here for a possible takeover knowing full well that they cannot get ICASA approval due to conflict of interest, and so will go about this is a typically South African corporate way..........through the loopholes.

This is just me, possibly other people here have other views, but this could either be really good news or really bad news.....we will just have to wait and see.

this could and should be a very good thing for WBS / iBurst, if JNR runs the company anything like his dad runs vodacom.. this can only mean good things for iBurst, even if he gets a little bit of guidence from daddy, which i doubt will happen, from what i have heard, he has been left to run his own company / life from his dad, to screw up, or make a success of...

i hope and think this can only mean good things for WBS in the future.. and hopefully we will see 2mb sooner now :)

What do you make of the fact that jnr is only MD. The CEO is unchanged.

Kinda strange that a BEE company employed a White MD.
Not meant as a racist slur, but it is a bit odd.

Maybe for a smallish company. But not that uncommon.

I haven't seen any mention of this news, so thought I'd share an experience from a little over a week ago...

I was speaking to somebody at Vodacom the other day with regards to wasting away 2-3 hours in a day trying to get through to their corporate helpdesk for some relatively urgent problem affecting our company. Calls would EVENTULLY get picked up, then not even 1 second later get dropped, or when I do manage to log a call and get a response, the person the call has been passed onto has got a completely different story to what I told... hehe, anyway, thats somewhat irrelevant. What is relevant is the the person I spoke to (middle management) said something down these lines: "Hopefully these helpdesk issues get resolved soon, with WBS taking over the helpdesk".

When asked why I burst out laughing, I explained my helpdesk experiences with iBurst to them and, also, the father son relationship between the two companies. This person was shocked at the few helpdesk horror stories I told them, but moreover, was flabbergasted at the family tie.
