Telkom : Carte Blanche

She's just a pawn in the game, that minister doesn't know a damn thing. Just fed b/shiate to say. You could see her mouth quivering in desperation at some of the questions asked of her!

Right, I thought it a good idea to keep all the views on the story that Carte Blanche did regarding Telkom to one thread. So I know I have some views on the matter but i wanted to hear yours.... Im going to try and get the information as presendted on Carte Blanche and post it here. For now feel free to post any views you have on the matter.

Internet costs in South Africa are considered among the most expensive in the world. These costs are said to be strangling economic growth and retarding the education of our children. Is it Telkom’s monopoly that is responsible for these exorbitant rates or should we rather be laying the blame at government's telecommunications policy? We challenge Telkom, the government and the regulator to give us straightforward answers.

straightfoward answers.
Oh yes like thats going to happen, that woman looked like she wanted to run away and cry, because she knows its not going to happen. Man people are going to hate telkom even more after that... Hope something happens about it and fast.

Anyone else know that the SA gov owns 100% of sentech ?

Edit : just had an idea, we should all add "on behalf of the people" to our sig's

Frankly, I didn't learn anything I didn't already know, but hopefully it will inform the masses that have mnet. I just wish they would have something like this on all the sabc channels. Oh, but wait government wouldn't like the bad publicity and since SABC is a government media tool, I guess I would hold my breathe.

I just wish carte blanche would get rid of that Devi Govender woman, she isn't direct enough and tends to back down too often than not. They should have had Derrick or Ruda.

I'm going to 'take a shower', 'on behalf of the people' to 'combat crime and corruption' and to 'stop the spread of HIV/AIDS'
all on behalf of the people:p

Pity Africa's dry, the reason why we have the most AIDS infection is because it rains so rarely here.

Anyway, the ppl on this forum wouldn't have learned anything from the Carte Blanche, but I was on the edge of my seat listening to every singly word because I knew it would be reaching a relatively large amount of people, I only hope that people get impassioned about this situation and people as a whole start being more proactive about it and things will get done, 'soon'.

they should have mentioned hellkom and myadsl there

I agree, and perhaps a few quotes from the forumites, on their feelings of what Telkom is doing to this country
