hi ... i have a noob question..Will it be possible to connect with 2 pc's on one router , each using a different ISP account?Using PPOE ?

Yep ... just use a PPoE client (Windows has one built-in) on each PC and configure your router into "bridge" mode.

Cool :) I was also wondering the same thing.

Do all routers have a bridge mode?

Would both PCs still be networked? While using this kind of configuration?

Do all routers have a bridge mode?

Yes, but some of them have a hidden setting to change the `router` into a `modem` (bridge mode) ... What is your make and model, and somebody here can help you out.

OR: Search for it on google. (It took me 2 days to work out the secret page to change my settings...)

Alright cool, so if it just acts as a modem, I'm guessing in bridge mode it doesn't network the PCs together correct?

I see you have the same ISP accounts that I'm interested in getting RazorSA, how have you get it setup? Two PCs dialing into the router one with OpenWeb account and one with a Webafrica one?

When u put ur router in bridge mode, it basically becomes a switch and a plain modem.
You will still have your LAN running but the WAN functions like doing its own PPP, NAT etc will fall away. So you will have to setup a PC to do the WAN stuff and use PPPOE.
It works basically the same as a 56k dialup connection in term of sharing and port fowarding.
If openweb only allows one concurrent connection, i dont think u can set two pc's to dial up. If this is the case, id suggest setting up one pc to dial in and share the connection, then set the other pc to use the one dialing in as a gateway. Then u just set your 3rd pc to dial into webafrica

Ok thanks that makes it alot clearer.

Well the Openweb accounts allow two concurrent sessions so that shouldn't be a problem at all :)

From the system that has the openweb connection for local traffic, if needs be could I access international by sharing the webafrica connection on another PC and then allowing it to get internet access over the network?

You can, but you'll hav to fiddle around the whole time when u want to switch between local and int.

I havent actually used it, but if u can setup one pc with it and let the other PCs connect to it, it would be exactly wat u need.

Im just not sure how you would share it tho. If some1 using it on a lan can give us some info that would be cool

I connect to OpenWeb's IS account using my one computer, and only download local stuff using that PC.

Then, I connect using the other computer using WebAfrica to do all my email, browsing, etc... On Intl account.

Works very nicely. No external applications needed at all.
