Hi!

Has anybody succeeded in getting Opera Mini to work on a 6230i on the Virgin Network?

If yes, please tell me how!

I also have a d600, like the other guy that was having a problem, and I cant get it to work. Was trying earlier this evening

Opera Mini is working fine on my Nokia 6230 with Virgin Mobile.

BTW, I am still using Opera Mini version 1.2.

:)

i finally got Opera Mini to work.

You need to change the Data Bearer Settings in your Access Point from 'internet' to 'vdata'

Please help me, I've also got a Nokia 6230i. I've tried fiddling with all my settings to the point of feeling the sad desperation of knowing you're nearing the end of a hopeless defeat.

Anyway, let me tell u exactly what my current settings are:

In the "Connectivity" menu under "Settings":

1.GPRS->

GPRS Connection -> When Needed

GPRS Modem Settings->
Active Access Point -> vdata

In the "Configuration" menu under "Settings"

1.Default Configuration Settings -> Virgin Mobile

3. Preferred Access Point -> Empty

Please note, that when I use my default browser it works, but is extremely slow, and no luck with external apps like Opera Mini and MXIT. Please help!

I don't have a Virgin sim yet but I'll try to help. I also have a 6230i.

Go to Settings -> Configuration

Set the Default configuration settings to Virgin Mobile.

Then go to Personal configuration settings -> Options -> Add new -> Access point

Account name : Virgin
Access point settings -> Data bearer : GPRS
Bearer settings -> GPRS access point : vdata
Authentication type : Normal
Username : blank
Password : blank

Now go to Preferred access point and select Virgin. See if that works.

Haha, thanks feo! I owe you one for this, omg, so simple you helped me do it in like 30 seconds.

Milos on me!

Perhaps I was a bit premature, I thought it was working because it asked me for my user and pass like it does on my vodacom sim... but it seems I'm not able to download anything still...

*takes back milo*

Weird:

Using the default web browers on my phone, I went to virgin mobile.co.za, and it said that the WAP site is only available to virgin mobile customers, wtf is going on? Conspiracy!

I think it's because of the settings I changed, feo.

Well like I said I dont have a Virgin sim yet so I'm not totally clued up...do other sites load in your web browser and opera mini? Also does MXit work with the Virgin settings?

nothing works other than my default piece of crap browser on my phone. Thanks for your help tho.

Wait... WHAT THE FACK!

It works now. wtf...

Feo, please slap me...

Thank you Branson of God! I've been calling him Branson of a bitch all day!

*slap* switch your phone off for a few secs and on again. Let it get full signal, open opera mini and open a website and post back. Also try out MXit..

I'm in Mxit now and it's working fine!

Thanks feo, I knew you were the chosen one!

It seems pretty similar to Vodacom GPRS, I've only been using it a few mins so don't have much basis for opinion atm.

btw, feo, when u connect to mxit does it ask you for your user and pass? I find it so annoying! And is there a way to get it to stop asking you for permission to use gprs or whatever?

Sorry to keep asking questions like this.
