Here is my Sentech experience:
In September 2004, I entered into a 24 month contract with Sentech for the MyWireless 128 package. I had to pay for an expert from Nowire to come to my site and test for a signal, which he did and the contract was signed.
Everything went fine, and I used to recommend Sentech to anyone I talked to.
However, since Friday (28/07/2006) my signal simply disappeared. I phoned Sentech about this, only to hear that All the towers are up and running and they are not experiencing any problems. They told me to get my modem checked out by Nowire, which I did. Nowire said that the modem if fine... I phoned Sentech again to explain this to them. Their response was that they would draw a line of site from the tower to my site. Currently, they are still busy doing this:rolleyes: . Whenever I phone, they are still busy drawing a line of site to my site. When I ask if it is possible to speak to someone involved in this, I get told that these guys don't speak to the customers... Irritating, since they are clearly not doing their work either!
Currently, I'm stuck in a contract with Sentech, with no internet connection. Of course I'm still paying for this service that simply ceased to exist, and I've paid for a modem that can only be used for this service! Now, I have to use my cellphone's gprs to connect untill such time as Telkom can install my adsl line.
I'm posting this message simply to warn other prospective Sentech customers.

You can freeze the contract, until there is reception again. Read the contract you signed... it should be on there

I would'nt even bother to freeze the contract, I work from home and need internet, since all my clients are spread around the country. I have already applied for an adsl line from Telkom this morning.
JayT, I see in your sig that your signal strength is 14-18%, that is what mine used to be here in Monte Vista from tower 101. I can actually see the tower when I stand on top of my roof! One would think that should be a good signal. However, since Friday, it has been 0%, can't even pickup a tower...

My take is that there is a contract you entered into for a "Service Rendered" They are not rendering a Service thus they are in breach. Coud be wrong tho... just my 2 cents

Well, I am obviously cancelling the contract. I had to pay for this month (August), even though I've had no service. However, I've made peace with the fact that Sentech will suck as much money out of me as they possibly can, I'm done with them. Now I just need to get my adsl connection as soon as possible. The important thing for me is to have decent internet access.

Tried this. Think the contract says something about 2 months not working, then we can start bitching. Madness!

O well, I'm enjoying my ADSL at the moment, and cancelling Sentech. Desmond or whoever the MD of Nowire is said we can cancel at any time because of all the **** we had with them in the past. Gonna take him up on his offer. ;)

Dude , just cancel the contract or get Martin (the nowire expert) to come check it out for you , if you still wanna continue with the contract

Well, I'm not with Nowire, my contract is directly with Sentech, who requires two month's notice to cancel the contract, of course I'm doing that now, even though paying R650/month for another 2 months for no service is really painfull.

If you're still interested , Martin can help you.You don't need to be a nowire client to get his help

Already sent off the cancellation form, have to pay for another two months and am waiting to hear what the cancellation fee (!!!) is. Right now I'm just waiting for my adsl line from Telkom. Even with all the negativity surrounding Telkom, I don't think Sentech is any better. In fact pretty much worse...
