Mother admits to killing her 'white baby' August 05 2006
Minutes after giving birth to a baby boy in her own bathroom, Puleng Lephuting put the child in a toilet and flushed it over and over again, until he was dead. Then she took the body and placed it on a rubbish heap outside her house.
Sickening.

Value system = ZERO

Justice system = ZERO

Accountability = ZERO

(I would hate to say)

Future = ZERO

2000 hours jail - weekends only - for murder. :eek:

She should be drowned in the toilet and left on the same pile of garbage - along with the poor excuse of a judge that handed out the sentence.

... the affair she didn't tell her husband (it was too white!)

That's just sick. What's wrong with her and 2000 hours jail time only but only over weekends.

just goes to show that the justice system is going to waste. Why was she not sentenced to life or at least 20 years. This is full blown murder, not some legal abortion.

People like this should suffer in the same way that their victims suffer... So I say, drown her!!!

who is this callous idiot of a judge! s/he is no better than the murdering mother!
with fine examples like this, no wonder criminals do as they please in SA :mad:

She is the breadwinner and the mother of two children ... now would you as a taxpayer you volunteer to raise those kids and also feed them until they come of age ???.

Yes she did do a very loathsome and terrible thing which hopefully will haunt her for the rest of her life but she is also the mother of two children.

I think the judge made the right decision.

ja, you would!

So you would rather mess up the lives of two innocent children as well and lock up their mother to satisfy your thirst for revenge and by next week you all would have forgotten about this incident ???.

Perhaps we should make people fight lions in staduims like in the old days if that is going to make you all feel better.

Article states she was a breadwinner - not the only one. There are probably others who could care for the other children. The state should be take away her other children anyway. Child abuse doesnt get much worse than murder.

yes, and while we're at it, let's feed her 2 other kids to the lions, before she decides to kill them too... and wastes more taxpayers' money by having the state pay for another court case!
:rolleyes:

Can it be that sentences are more lenient depending on your race? PLEASE TELL ME I AM WRONG

I have to question the value she would place on the life of her 2 children - if she can so easily flush another.

Kids should be taken from her - what kind of value system is raising 2 kids??!

And yes, by next week she will have forgotten about it!

And - next week - there will be another similar story!!

and btw, tibby, unlike you, i have no thirst for revenge... justice and protection against murdering loons is all i want, and should damn well get, without having to ask for it.

There is so much that can be said about this. I will just say that this extremely lax sentence is indicative of SA's judicial system's attitude toward crime....

Just to play Devil's Advocate: Could it be that she was suffering from Post Natal Depression (Baby Blues) and having to face her husband with proof of her infidelity she made a very bad decision?

I dunno. As horrible as this is it still is not as bad as the premeditated violent crime we see all the time. This woman may have been out of her mind wih despair and worry and didnt know what else to do.

I believe they took the possibility of post natal depression into consideration
"In cases where mothers kill their babies, sometimes mitigating factors are related to post-natal depression, but this woman knew what she was doing. She murdered her child to protect herself.
It seems clear to me that she was trying to dispose of the evidence. IMO it would have been easier to dispose of a used condom - had she exercised some common-sense and used one then this would never have happened.
