Nokia 105 for less than R200

I've always had a soft spot for these type of phones. And seeing how the quality has improved over time is great. I more or less need a smartphone, but I find myself almost wanting to get one of these :D So simple, so nice.
I have a nokia 1200 or something, can't remember the exact model name now.

Standby is a minimum of two weeks :D

Saw on one of the live blogs that one charge can last a MONTH!!!

Pity it doesnt have a camera. Trying to find a cheap basic phone for workshop type people is almost impossible these days.

This phone is exactly what I will need in a few years. I want to get a cheap little phone for my daughter so I can phone her and she can phone me every day (I don't live with her and her mom). She could drop it in the bath once a month and at this price I wouldn't mind replacing it.

perfect for messy fishing trips, dont need to worry if it gets scratched or dropped..
But can you have a second normal sim with the same number if your main cell has a micro sim card?

This phone would be perfect as a secondary phone, think I will get one if it launches here.

Plus it seems to have Snake, so thats an instant selling point

*RESURRECT!*

Yesterday I bought 3 of these beauts. Just a pity that the blue one wasn't available. Pick 'n Pay Hyper stores currently have them on special at R129 ea (MTN Mahala starter pack). :) A lot of places are selling these for R300 - hyaenas!!

I bought them for some TM SIM-SONKE goodness. :D I will be shipping them off next week to family to make free calls to them now that my primary SP is TM.

P.S. The phones have 24 months warranty! And yes, activated them on MTN before swapping over to TM. ;)

Know if this can run Java Apps?
Does it have Edge/ GPRS?
Can it do email?

No to all of those. It has a handful of funky games though, an LED torch, calculator app, radio, colour screen and polyphonic ring tones (loud!).

It has super quick start up and shut down. I bet it is the new standard in SIM activations now too due to how quickly it accesses networks. ;)

Bought one of these several months ago (so the OP starting this thread was rehashing very old news). But a great little (second?) phone, good battery life, and very simple for technophobes apart from a quirky multiple address book. Actually looks more expensive than it is, too!

Yeah, it's really relevant to SIM SONKE as most people can't be bothered to switch SIM cards. Thus a second phone - a really cheap one - is what we need for SIM SONKE goodness. There's no better candidate than the 105!
