Got this in my e-mail this morning...

Dear Valued Subscribers,

Please be aware that as from October 2006 we will be debiting our subscribers on the 25th of each month. If you have any queries or would like to update your banking details please do no hesitate to contact the Accounts Helpdesk on (011) 676 6009 or email [email protected].

Warm regards,

The iBurst Team

What the hell do they expect me to do now, I get paid on the 28th of the month?

I have the same problem, I have emailed them and refused to have my billing date change.

If they insist that it will change I will cancel my month-2-month and get something else....

Just refuse point blank.. simple really...

Does an iBurst rep feel like explaining?

Got the e-mail too

I guess it's better that they have notified us first, unlike in the old days when they ran the debit order they day they felt like they were broke.

I have an account with nashuamobile and they only have two debit order dates, 1st and 15th of the month.

hope they respond to the querries subscsriber raise.

I cancelled my debit order months back. I pay them myself on the 1st of the month, and have had no problems since I did that. Why not do the same?

I think in this case we're going to have to take it to the media before anything gets done about it. I actually hope it goes that far because lately they're becoming arrogant.

Please explain how you did it, I would want to do it that way and have been wanting to since last year.

hmm yes it's more than a hassle than anything else ...

this is a copy of the email i sent them this morning .....

Good day.

Thank you for informing me about your debit order change.

Unfortunately I will not be able to comply with this change. All my debit orders are on the 1st - 3rd of every month; this change will be more of a hassle to me than an improvement.

If this change is going ahead I will be forced to cancel my debit order and do a normal internet transfer on the 2nd of every month.

Regards

I phoned their accounts dept and told them my current debit order would no longer work as I was changing banks (during the 20twenty debacle). I requested that I do a manual payment from then. I was asked to send an email requesting this, and that was about it.

Arent they suppose to ask you before they make a change like this. I mean it was agreed to do it on the 1st of each month, which anyways was never done this way. My debit order always goes through between the 3rd and the 5th of each month.

They cant just change something whenever they feel like it. WTF. This really irritates the hell out of me.

Did you guys get any reply from the emails that you send, regarding this?

PS. Yesterday was the first time ever that I received an invoice from IBurst in the post.

No response received yet no. I am still waiting for them to respond to my request to open up PORT 25 so I can send mail. Been waiting for at least 3 weeks  so I guess I will be waiting for a long time. Have decided to change banks aswell so as soon as that is complete I will phone them and tell them I wanna pay 'em via bank transfer on the 1st of each month. And they had better not try and cut me off, then you will see me drive to their offices and strangle them all.

Things were fine for a long time, now suddenly they're becoming full of crap. it's not my fault they're feeling the financial pinch from rolling out so many basestations all over the show. Especially where I live, we didn't need an extra 2 BS. These new BS upset my entire setup.

I'm also unhappy about this. I get paid on the 26th or 27th of each month. The 25th is just a stupid, silly date to choose. Obviously, subzero thought has gone into this. All my other debit order go off in the first week of a month, which is the sensible, logical, clever, smart thing to do.

Iburst catch a wake up!

i find it stupid that they would change this date to the 25th who thought about this???

and i asked about paying them directly instead of debit order and i was told that can only be arranged for bussiness accounts... bunch of BS if u asked me

i pay almost everyone else via internet transfer why not iburst??

JTech, to get the port 25 working just phone them and refuse to get off until they do it.

Mine lasted a week before I phoned and then after about 10 minutes I was through to the right person and he waited on the line to see if I could connect to my smtp server....

iburst are going to have to rethink this 25th nonsense else I'm gone... 4mb lines are looking appealing even though it is the blue and green monster.

Well, well

The power of the MyADSL forums....
Jason

We will leave your d/order date for the 1st.

Regards

Good Day,

your e-mail below refers.

Due to the fact that I am only paid by my employer on the 28th of each
month, it will greatly inconvenience me if my account is debited on the
25th. For this reason when I signed up I elected to have my account
debited on the 1st of each month and until now there has been no problem
at all with that.

I trust that you will see my standpoint on this and that I cannot
control the date I get paid on and that we can come to some sort of
agreement about this. I am not particularly happy that a change like
this just gets forced on me and I have posted this e-mail to the MyADSL
forum.

Regards,
Jason ********

Wow, you're lucky to have gotten a response. I'm probably going to give up on waiting for a reply and just phone them, like I always have to.

no- simple really. Just mention the MyADSL forum when dealing with them, that tends to make them not ignore you! I've used this tactic now for the second time with positive results. I even used it when dealing with Vodacom and it worked except there I also had to use hellopeter.com to get them to stop messing me around!

I'll do that in future.
I phoned and got some joy, along with info that may be useful to others.
Apparently they are in the process of replying to all the emails they got. If you sent an email to them saying this new billing date doesn't suit you, they will leave your debit date as is. Proof is in the pudding though, I'll be keeping that email I sent safe, just in case.

Here is what I sent yesterday:

Hi,

As per your email dated 19 September (Subject: iBurst billing), you state that you are changing your debit order to be pulled on the 25th of each month.

1. Are you willing to have debit orders on days other than the 25th?
2. If the answer to 1 above is no, then I request that you no longer attach a debit order to my account.
3. I request you provide me with your banking details so that I may then be able to manually pay the amounts due on my account manually.

Kind regards

Although given that they haven't pulled their debit order for the last two months who knows what is gonna happen.

Well I got a reply which says that they will change my debit order to go through on the 1st, and that its not a problem.

So let see what happens on the 25th, you never know.
