Latency! Whats yours?

Pls post your ingame latencies, your connection type and ISP, your realm and US or EU so we can get an idea on what internet solutions are best for reducing lag!

Latency : 800ms maximum (altho it sometimes spikes over that but not often) and 600ms mininum (sometimes yellow ping in the 500ms area but that is usually shortlived)

Connection : 512k ADSL unshaped with Mweb

Realm : Frostmane EU

Realm: Stormrage US
Connection: 512 ADSL

Without any special tricks to reduce shaping (ie. aviod shaping).
Latency: 900-1000ms shaped
480-600ms unshaped

With ways to beet shaping
Latency: 440ms-600ms shaped
280ms-380ms unshaped

YES!!! unshaped accounts are in actual fact shaped (Did you think telkom would sell a product as advertised?)

Connection - 384 ADSL

Saix 3GB shaped account
Latency - 350 - 800ms shaped if it goes higher then that then I know there is something wrong. I get a very constant 400-500ms

Depending what time of the day

In game

265 - 500.

265 when I am flying or standing still in the wilderness and it is quiet.

in MC raiding about 400-500.

I can't remember when last it went into red with my ping. (600+)

I think this has something to do with some people quitting or cutting their playtime - It has been some time since when last i saw a que to log into the server.

I suspect that as soon as TBC is released it will prolly shoot back up
 
I have an unshaped account.

On Alonsus EU average 300 to 500

have had 235 or thereabouts in some zones. Felwood and WPL. Haven't been to end-game on this realm yet.

Of course have had some spikes to 2000/3000, but quite rare.
 
Realm: Moonglade EU
Connection: Vodacom HSDPA
Latency: 600-900ms

Lately it seems to have been a little worse than usual, will probably get myself an antenna and see of that helps.
 
I play on Shattered Hand U.S with latency of between 250-400 shaped, went over to EU and was getting between 600-800 latency so I went back to my U.S account.

Although with an unshaped account I don't get better then 250-400 on U.S account, but it did improve latency on the EU account.

Latency: 700-1200ms but you gotta love the 1800ms spikes when the port gets raped :p

Latency: Consistently between 450-800ms

Uh, yes, thanks for that... except you may have missed the upper half of the post, namely:

US- Balnazzar

550 - 1000ms with average 800 - 900's.

Running two WoW accounts (My son and myself) simultaneously.

Iburst3 (Shaped) with external antenna.

Looking for a better connection, so keep posting those ISP's!
 
EU - Bloodhoof :)

384K line connection

On my normal shaped account - 500 up to 750 MS,
and on imaginet unshaped account anything from 250 Ms to 550 MS max.

Latency: 300-700ms most of the time with THREE people playing.
 
About anywhere between 500 to 1000 but ir usually sits in the 700'ds

I just got unshaped with SAOL and my latency has been in the 300's all the time
I am really amazed at this, I am used to getting between 700 and 800 latency, so playing with 300 feels like its a different game.

The cost is R135 per gig pre-paid, and when the month is up you can still use your bandwith you have left over.

what does it feel like? do u still get glowing hands for a second or 2 before your instant lands? do people still hit you from 10 yards away?

anything better than that is heaven
