As well as announcing the specs on the Apple TV (720p high def video, 40GB hard drive, 802.11b/g/n, Intel processor, a host of outputs, and the ability to stream from 5 computers) Jobs has revealed the iPhone - a hybrid iPod, Phone, and pda that runs OsX.

Check out engadgets minute by minute coverage for details.

Is that what your other thread is about tibby?

I would actually like to rephrase my first post in this thread, and replace it with:

"Fook me, I want one!" :D

For me the key part of the phone is how the user interface works, knowing apple I am very keen to get my hands on one of these.

I refused to purchase an iPod cause I wanted it to be a mobile, looks like it was worth the wait...
I'm getting me one
:)

It'll be a long wait...at least till June if not longer...I'm getting one too :)

Probably next year is the soonest, $500 and $600 is competitive for a phone, but it will probably be double that here.

It would kill the Garmin market if it had GPS. I wonder if it would link via BT so we could see MapSource/Garmaps.

I'm a bit worried about the nice big 3.5" (160ppi) screen. It would need a sleeve or something to protect it.
Thinner than any other phone at 11.6mm
Two megapixel camera built-in on back.
Headset jack (3.5mm)

The interfaces on Mac-based products seem a little too artsy-fartsy and overly-simplistic for my liking. In some cases the simplistic nature often makes it more tedious to get some things done. ITO of phones I'd still go with an HTC.

Having said that, I guess the iPhone would be good for the iPod generation who would no longer need to carry around two different devices.

Indeed, this would make me keen to get one. Have had no need till now for an ipod. Had one which i never used and then sold, but if i could get one that is a phone and a camera as well then i might consider it...

Just the problem that every second person will then want one, so i hope they are planning to release them in lots of different colours so that you can still stand out from the crowd at least a little bit...

Either way, its going to take some phone to make me part with my beloved K750i :)

Wow, that looks sweet.

But yeah, with all that rich mobile content, I would have liked 3G at least...

At least there's WiFi - with that resolution and full browser Internet cafe's should be great.

it looks like a clever little thing....i like.
good on them!

It makes the Nokia N series look like a Ford Model T.
:(

I sooooo hate apple for doing this, it's just toooooo good.

good thing it'll only be here next year some time, mah Model T aka N91 just have to do till then.

really sucks that it doesn't have 3G though

Yeah, there's nothing like taking loads of clicks to do something instead of just one or two. :D Even better lets just do things so thats its easy for the programmer who has to code the program once, instead of the user who will be doing things the long way round every time they use the app.
