My main connection to the interwebz is over Amobia Uncapped WISP, but I still have my ADSL line. At the end of last month I thought I would test the condition of ADSL in my area and got a OpenWeb 4mbps Titan uncapped account, but after a few days I saw our DSLAM was still dodgy so I stopped playing with the ADSL and cancelled the account with OpenWeb.

Now this was on about the 4th of the month and they toldl me its cool, but they want a full calendar months notice so only at the end of October will the account go dead. It's kinda what I expected but still pretty lame. I am paying for something I have no use for. What's up with these full calendar months notice nonsense?

Anyway, I figured out a cool way to get the most for the money I have to pay. Seeing as I have a spare router with a USB port and FTP feature I am going to stuff a 32gb flash drive full of goodies, fire up the FTP service, register it on Napalm indexer and hopefully flat-line the 512kbps upstream I have until the end of October.

it wont help. they will just shape you to death, like the normally do.

...or will they. See rumour has it they don't shape up traffic nor does it count towards the usage taken into account when calculation how much you should get shaped. If I can get a max of 4gb up each day then it should give about 120GB a month.

Woohoo. 512Kb/s 24/7. That'll show them. :erm:

Why not just donate your account to someone that can use it?

Is there someone that would want it, and more importantly that wound use it for something that could get me shot?

Openweb use to be a market leader, but they became soft and just another ISP.

Well, I only have a 2Mb line, and my account is perfect for my needs atm. But ask around, I have no doubt you'll find someone who can make use of it.

Well if there is someone that can use it and max it as far as possible for the remainder of this month and the next then feel free to PM me. Otherwise operation Napalm is proceeding as planned

:D nice one, I was wondering what to put on it though. Do you think there would be anyone wanting to download Liewe Heksie, Brakenjan and Heidi? What would attract a lot of downloaders, or at least two since I think that is the max simultaneous session my old router can do.

lol Openweb where still deducting debit orders from my account 2 months after i cancelled.....they have really gone down in the service department don't think i will use them again.

I have the same situation. I have an unused OW account until end of October. What can i do with it other than watch it do nothing.

Setup an FTP on it and submit it to naplam. I also opened the wifi on it with the SSID FreeInternet.
