It's just a bit more creative than another ranting thread about your problems and iBurst's faults.

What if we didn't have problems or issues with iBurst, what if they were actually the cheapest Broadband in SA, what if they didn't rename our packages after graphics cards from 1995 (Pro Extreme...honestly?!?!?), what if heldesk actually helped you... what would we be talking about on the iBurst threads...?

Anyway think about this this:
Only 44 people have participated on the bad top management thread so far, lets say eveyone who posts on the iBurst threads participates...how many people then? 60...80? Lets say 80 people all agree that top management is crap and we forward a link to that thread to iBurst, do you think they will listen? 80 people out of how many thousands of subscribers think that their service is crap...

I don't think they pay much attention to these forums and they dont pay much attention to the one on their page either. Most people are probably happy about their free 500mb and the abitility to carry over their 200mb/512mb/1gb cap and havent really wondered why they get page timeouts and crap torrents/p2p (if at all they know what p2p or torrents are).

What we need to do is reach a bigger audience, if we (yes we, all 80 of us) can get iBurst to have a poll on their page about customer satisfaction, or somehow get majority of the susbcribers to participate on a poll on MyADSL we might get something done. Then maybe...just maybe we'll have the best and cheapest Braodband provider in Southa africa with the cheapest top ups and the best customer service. Or maybe they'll cancel our contracts and tell us to go F@&k our selves...

Think about it.

I have voted with my money. Hopefully that will learn them.

Jongi : Hopefully that will teach them (not learn them)

lol

Anyway. yeah. i agree Iburst needs to make stuffs cheaper, and a much more relaxed cap. 500mb is nothing.

If u truly only surf a few websites a day, and send a few emails. and genuinly don't download. Only using Messangers like MSN, mIRC, Yahoochat etc..etc or for small business stuff. Then i guess this package will suit you.

But lets be real, that small cap won't get u anywhere if your a person that enjoys online gaming, or keeping your games updates updated, or even download a few extra maps and mods for your games. (addon maps for your favourite game. etc)

Online games like Ultima online don't use alot, but stuff like World of Warcraft, Eve , Counter-strike and Quake are quite hungry. U need at least 5kb download and 5kb upload (making it 10kb per sec) or around 36mb per hour. True gamers will know that if u play 10hours or 15 hours on any of the above games, u haven't really played anything yet.

10-12hours of WoW will chow around 300mb to 360mb

What about MS windows. We all know Windows XP, 64bit, or Vista does updates. Those updates aint small, and they update every few days or weekly.

thats my 2cents.

How do iBurst, infact the whole wireless broadband fraternity measure up against international wireless providers? This seems to have been the best way to beef up the ADSL movement.

Well the iBurst technology is good, and also our HSDPA etc. Just the same as any where else in the world, we are far more up to date with our wireless networks than our ADSL/wired.

The only problems we face are the companies managing these technologies and of course the bandwidth "shortage" and price problems which are huge.

That was from ages ago, are you sure the link is still meant to be accessible?

We all filled it in a while back when they first created it and asked for feed back, wouldn't be a bad idea for them to leave it up and see how needs/wants change.

Thats a mickey mouse survey........."Degree of satisfaction with regards to:....Shape of modem......Colour of modem.....Size of modem.....Weight of modem"..<---- dumb a$$ questions:eek:

"With regards to a service with guaranteed speeds:.....What would you be prepared to pay for such a service?"...<---- I thought we were paying for such a service.

Yes its funny, how could the weight of your modem be a problem..? I had bigger problems with the price of it, and the "shape" of my connection.

So who at iBurst do I need to spam in order to get that thing up and going again?
[with decent questions this time: "Would you use iBurst to make voice calls if the quality was acceptable and you would save money?"!?!?!?!?]

it'll take over your life
