I don't think this is really for the Mac thread. Apologies if I'm wrong. I ask that responses are made with positive intent the world does not need another PC vs. Mac thread.

I need to buy a new laptop for my wife to use for presentations for our business.
For a long time I've wanted an Apple but I get the feeling that I can get a PC for less than the average Apple. My main consideration is durability as the machine will be used for presentations daily and schlepped around a lot. What do I get by paying the extra for the apple?
Am I comparing apples with apples if I use the following two config's:
Apple
13-inch 2.0GHz Intel Core 2 Duo (White)
1GB memory
80GB hard drive1
Double-layer SuperDrive
R12228.00
HP PAVILLION dv6243ea
Intel® Core™2 Duo processor T5200 @ 1.6 GHz
1024MB RAM
120GB HDD
DVDRW dual layer drive
56K modem
10/100 Ethernet
Integrated 802.11a/b/g wireless networking
Integrated Bluetooth™
Remote control
15.4" WXGA BrightView display
Integrated webcam
MS Windows Vista Home Premium
R 9,999.95
