Planned maintenance will be performed on the Telkom network on Saturday 14 April 2007 from 00:00 to 04:00. Users connected to the following DSLAMs may experience intermitted service interruptions:
Mosselbaai,Newlands West,Oudtshoorn,Pearl Valley Golf Estate,Port Shepstone,Princess Crossing,
Queendustria,Randburg 1,ST.Michaels on sea,Sea Cow Lake,Shakaskraal,Sidwell,Springfield,
Stamford Hill,Summerstrand Casino,Tiervlei,Trenance,Umhlanga Rocks,Wavecrest,Wenthworth
Aasvoelkop 1 and 2,Arboretum,Austerville,Beach,Bishop Lavis,Bramley 1,Cape St Francis,Chloorkop,
Congella 2,Durban,Durban North,Greyville,Isithebe,Kokstad,La Lucia,Lynwood Glen 4,Malabar and Meerensie.
Downtime will be kept to a minimum.

Still down! COMPLETELY. Connection dropped just after midnight this morning and has yet to return to life. This is so annoying. I am connected to the Lynnwood Glen exchange.

Thank goodness for cellphones ;)

Out of curiosity, does anyone know what kind of maintenance they are doing? Just wondering if it will improve the line stability or something :)

Came online for me about an hour ago. Fat lot of good that was! It went off around midnight last night and I have been trying to call 0800 DSL DSL ever since without success. Thanks again Telkom for being so useless. A simple email about 'planned' maintenance woulda been nice so that I didnt have to spend hours trying to call your Unhelpfull farking line

Coulda also posted a few extra bodies on that unhelpful line to keep 'customer' informed. Ohhhh, is that too much to ask with all your billions in profit? Keep it up you bunch of useless idiots. I cant wait till I have an option and I can give you the middle finger, barstards.
 
Ok, finally came up around 4pm. I got through to Telkom ADSL help desk - after holding for more than half an hour.

Was initially told that my line tested fine until I spoke about seeing a notice for planned maintenance. Then suddenly a job was created for me. Lovely.

Resolution Description : ATM card replaced.
Cause of Failure : Unkown.
 
I must say that Telkom ADSL goes down more often than an intern during the Clinton administration...
