So has anyone else woken up this morning to find your download numbers for April 30 2007 are reflecting on 1 May 2007 instead ?

Telkom "Stats"

I am not sure what I woke up to this morning!

What information I have found does not make sense except for the correlation between SAIX and SASA as shown below.

This is a message posted on the Telkomsa.net usage tracker. The Old tracker also does not have stats.

Dear client, due to a system upgrade all
historic usage data before 1 May 2007 can
only be viewed on the old Usage Tracker.

The stats on SAIX and SASA are the same because SASA stats are derived from SAIX stats. Current and historic stats are there and appear to be correct.

The problem lies with stats given by Telkomsa.net, both on the website and by email.

I cannot access any meaningful stats on telkomsa.net. The old tracker also does not show anything because this link calls up my default browser, Mozilla, which does not work well with any Telkom sites.

I use IE6 when accessing my usage stats on Telkomsa and SAIX.

SASA reports that my usage for May is 58,596,644 bytes
saix.co.za reports that my usage for May is 58 596 644 bytes
Telkom's daily usage letter reports Combined Total : 122MB or [0.11GB]
Telkomsa.net usage stats reports that my usage is May 1 243.5173 MB + 18.6827 MB = 262.2000 MB, and the graphs do not display because "The ADSL Tracker is unable to display the graph at present. Please try again later."

There is obviously a screwup at Telkom's system development area as the different systems are singing from different hymn sheets.

Some time, no doubt, this lot will work once again and, hopefully, give figures which are all the same.

I do agree with the sentiments expressed so often on this forum that "Telkom is an instant cure for optimism!"

Hi I work for Telkom Internet
you can send me a private message with your telkom internet username and I will check what your usage really is.
It may be that the tracker is stuffed somehow.

bonobo_sir - what are the options for those of us who already have an ADSL line and want to get one of the new Do packages?

I am not to sure what the options are to migrate. I hate to say it but I think you may have to call 10219.

http://www.do.co.za/broadband/index.html is the site, I clicked on apply now and it gave me a PDF to print fill in and fax.. eew.

I am not really involved in that stuff. My job is just to make sure that it works ;)

Bonobo - welcome to the forums - I hope you will stay and help us with all our Telkom ADSL technical queries!!

I second that, welcome indeed and thanks for your help!

Hi bonobo_slr and welcome to the forum.

If you havent already done so I suggest you contact rpm to establish your credentials as a telkom employee. Contact details can be found at http://www.mybroadband.co.za/myadsl/contact.php

Many thanks

In the process of doing it.
Awesome - and welcome to the forum!

Hi folks

I can confirm that 'bonobo_slr' is indeed a Telkom Internet employee. The extent of his involvement is obviously entirely up to him, but you can trust him when he discusses Telkom Internet related issues like the usage stats.

BTW: Welcome to bonobo_slr. Great to have you as a member

Regards,

RPM

Migration

On phoning 10219 last week, the consultant said that migration would be automatic. In my case, ADSL Closer Option 5 would automatically become Do Closer Level 3. My Closer account and my TelkomInternet 3 gig account would be merged, and instead of being billed R699 for Closer and R249 (Total R948), I would be billed for R936 VAT inclusive.
I save R12!!!!! Wow!!!
:)
