Unable to send mail....

Use the IP address instead of the alphanumeric characters, in case their DNS fails again...

For Joburg users:

In order of preference

196.30.31.197 - mail-02.jhb.wbs.co.za
or
196.30.31.203 - mail.iburst.co.za
or
196.30.31.207 - smtp.wbs.co.za / smtp.iburst.co.za

For Cape Town users:

(Try to use the IP below, if it fails try 196.30.31.207, it is slower but does work, still no joy, use IS’ SMTP address)

196.46.70.2 - mail-01.cpt.wbs.co.za


It is advised not to make use of any ISP’s email server in this country as none of them seem to be consistently stable, especially iBurst’s SMTP Servers.


Depending on your current IP address (UUNet/IS) you could use:

(If you ping google.com and it delivers an IP starting with 72. then you are on UUNet / Verizon) - only verified in Cape Town area.

196.7.142.136 - smtp.uunet.co.za
196.26.208.193 - smtp.isdsl.net

Or find an ISP that runs an MSA on an unblocked port (usually 587)
