I phoned 10215 at about 10pm last night to enquire about no ADSL connectivity. This is how the call went (After confirming all the usual stuff):
Orc (Grace): "Let me check your line, please hold"
Me: "Ok, great, thanks."
Waited for at least 3 minutes...
Orc: "Hello sir, your line is working fine with full ADSL functionality. The problem is not with Telkom, however, we have received confirmation that SAIX is performing scheduled maintenance between 8pm and 6am, so the fault with browsing lies with them.
Me: "Ummm, but SAIX is Telkom, so the problem is therefore with you... when can I expect connectivity to be re-instated?"
Orc: "I am not sure sir, can I give you a reference number?"
Me: "No, i just want my DSL working. why was there no communication about scheduled maintenance?"
Orc: "I am not sure sir"
Me: "Ok, so how long will this scheduled maintenance carry on?"
Orc: "I am not sure sir"
Me: "Well is there anything useful you can tell me. so far you have confirmed that my apparently 24/7 DSL is not working because of scheduled maintenance, so therefore it is not actually a broadband service, so Do Broadband should change all it's advertising"
Orc: Silent
Me: "Can i please get my reference number and I would like to request a credit for the time the DSL service is down"
Orc: "You need to call the billing department and request a credit from them"

If anyone else is having problems this is the reason, and i i'm not sure if it's only Durbanville area. i was also affected on the weekend, from Friday til sunday. This actually sux.

Weird as my DO connection has been fine right through the weekend including up to today even though it was a little slow yesterday.

I guess it must be a Durbanville problem, I'm in Plumstead.

I have a client in Durbanville who lost their ADSL connectivity on on Saturday and by this morning it was still not up. The line was syncing fine but the router was not logging into their ADSL account. I contacted Telkom, who is their ISP and apparently someone at Telkom had reset their ADSL password... The struggle continues
