This has been happening all day at random times with different sites...even myadsl...

When i try goto a page i get an error saying page cannot be found. eg i try goto mybroadband.co.za and i got an error saying "mybroadband.co.za/news cannot be found on the server". But when i reload the page, then the page loads...

I also get an error saying "cache error. Tinyproxy could not load the cache".

Anybody else get this as well?

edit: Again now... when i clicked post, it said page cannot be found"

IS, broken down local and international, getting about 10 Kb, multithread.

Broken here too - DSL and diginet via Verizon and IS. For the last few days also been getting that. Mostly random int sites, but some local too.

This is a big one - still down in Cape Town even wireless went down.
Wireless is up now but not the mail servers. Why?? Anyone have any clues?

My ADSL goes down roughly every 5 minutes. The connection doesn't just drop, the entire line stops syncing :/

I am using SAIX TelkomInternet on a 4mb. Getting bugger all speed as well. Was faster on dial up.

WTF, Telkom?

Thank god im not alone.
I tried everything, from trying to change settings on my router, to opening ports and taking off my firewall.
For 2 days now its been like this. Torrents/ftp and even direct downloads just don't work.

And the line stops syncing every 5-7 minutes... without exception.
This is totally screwed up.

you try a router reset ? - could ask for a dslam reset via telkom, once had max of 9Kbps constant and mr Beep got telkom to reset my dslam and that was end of it... though this was on a IS express account

Resetting router didn't help.
Knowing telscum, it's best not to call them, as the next bill will have R2000 on it or something, thats if you get past the waiting line.... since others have this problem it will probably be sorted soon (hopefully)

same problem here...4mbit line and downloading really slow...everything from torrents, ftp, newsserver...you name it. Thank goodness I'm not alone in this.

Does it cost money to log a fault with telkom?

It doesn't cost money and if you phone from your landline the call is toll free, hence the long wait in the queue ;)

Telscum does charge you however if they do a call out and the fault was due to your error, like sticking your adsl line in a filter etc. :p

please tell me somebody else is having this problem as well...especially on this site. It comes up A LOT saying "Page cannot be found" with the URL and the server type at the bottom.

I dunno what is wrong anymore?

Try using these DNS settings in the properties of TCP/IP

208.67.222.222
208.67.220.220

oh, and turning off your firewall is like leaving all your doors and security gates unlocked to cool the house.

Cache Error!
The following error has occured: tinyproxy was unable to connect to the remote web server. Generated by tinyproxy (1.6.2)

Still does it even with those dns

I came across this thread while trying to resolve my own tinyproxy issue, and thought I'd share my findings.

My dsl router (Mega 105WR) uses tinyproxy to implement URL filtering. It may be that other
routers use it as well, and perhaps for more than URL filtering.

You can check to see where in the network the proxy is by using the following resource:
http://www.lagado.com/proxy-test. (Thanks to the guys at SAIX for the tip.)

In my case, the ladago URL reported that the request came via tinyproxy (no surprise),
and that the tinyproxy's IP is my own router's WAN IP address (big surprise).

After disabling URL filtering (which I had recently enabled), no proxy is reported
by the ladago proxy tester. My Internet experience has improved drastically as a result.
