They were canvassing in the Somerset Mall a few weeks back. They're offering an uncapped international contract with no line rental for R370/month, with speeds up to 1mb. It's set up via tower/antennae similarly to Iburst, apparently.

Just wondering if anyone had heard of them and could confirm the offer? Sounds very good compared to...well...pretty much any other internet contract in the country actually.

Hmm, incomplete website, no business address, no telephone number (except for Cell number) ... dunno, when I see things like that I am normally quite sceptical

Ya, those are all the reasons I'm sceptical as well. Their line was that they were just starting out so all of those things were still not fully developed yet.

Another thing ... registering your company on a .org domain? Aren't those reserved for non-profit organisations?

And they give waaayyy too little information, like hardware requirements (is it Wi-fi, do you need a modem like iBurst), contention ratios (which will definitely be there if it is wireless - just look at iBurst), etc etc

Maybe in 6 months' time they will have themselves sorted, and it might all be above board, but too many yellow flags at this stage

Can I take it nobody has heard of them at all? I'm going to wait till I hear more about them. Still that offer is so good if it's legit.

I saw them in the Mall today. It's a WISP - I stay away.

Someone should phone them.

Now why on earth should we do that? As a respected member of the MyADSL Forums, you should know that we Hate WISP's.

Uncapped for R370 per month, sounds like trouble.

Probably sharing uncapped DSL, issuing private IP's etc etc. Dont forget to ask them for a detailed definition of what they consider uncapped.
