Somewhat OT: MTN MMS to Email not working? (But GPRS works fine)

Hi Guys

Sorry not quite broadband related but would like to know if MTN's MMS to email is currently down. I need to urgently test something for a client but messages sent from my phone doesn't reach any email (even tried sending it to gmail).

Is there a problem on mtn's side or could it be the phone (but seriously doubt that - this phone's been sending MMS's without any problems)

Edit: After reading about MTN being down - would like to add that the MMS message is physically sent (ie, the GRPS logo comes on, you can see it sending data, and then the GRPS logo turns off again. After that the phone says "Multimedia Message Successfully sent"). But after that the email is just nowhere to be seen.

You're right.. there does seem to be some problem there.. I just tried it twice now..
It also appears to send fine from my phone, uses data, says "sent" and all.. but it doesn't come through to my email accounts..

Can't imagine whats wrong with it..

Thank you RedArrow - at least I know that the problem isn't this side.

I guess with them being down recently this mms 2 email problem doesn't have high priority (I see that at some stage MTN subscribers couldnt call other mobiles - just landlines)

Hopefully they'll fix it soon. Not even going to try to speak to 1st-line support in their call centre - it's a mission trying to explain these type of things to those guys (and like nicely trained robots they'll probably send me my mms settings again)

Lol, yes, I have experienced that as well. I had to explain to the person what mms to email was.

Just to report that its mtn mms-email is not working for me as well. They were down on Sunday as well and I noticed that changed something: they added a logo to the emails now.

Can anyone from MTN confirm there is a problem and when its going to be fixed?

Working since Friday nite. I received word that they were doing upgrades the whole week and Friday was the deadline.

Do you guys use the free email2sms service offered by MTN? I'm registered with email details on the MTN site, but no matter what I try I always get a "We don't know your email address.." return if I send a messages to [email protected] Any suggestions?
