    Hi, so an update. The issue was the ECU. Replaced the ECU, Lockset ect.. and all is good. Pretty expensive experiment.

    So the mechanic has two diagnostics machines and both say there is no communication to the ecu. Someone suggested we take the ecu to an ecu specialist who scanned the ecu and they say there is no issue with the ecu. We have checked all fuses and relays etc.. No issues there either.

    So we did a diagnostic. It does not receive any communication from the ecu. So the key can be scanned and numerous other things but not the ecu.

    Hi eg2505, so I'm new to forums. Not sure if I missed it but what did they fix to solve your starting problem? I have a Kia Rio Auto also won't start just cranks. The engine light and yellow key light does not show when the ignition is turned on. I have had numerous mechanics look at the vehicle...
