Someone drove into me...Do I have to pay an excess

Indeed. Generally, though, insurers like to do the claim on your behalf. Helps their regular set-offs.

Yes, that's fine. Generally your own insurer will handle your claim from the other party.

Bad advice - and you'd be in breach of your contract. 99.99999% of motor insurance policies contractually bind the insured to report all damage to their insurer.

My SIM was active about 2 hours after delivery. Will test and fiddle over the weekend to get performance up.

Remotely turn the Geyser on and off

James the Sparky just messaged me to say that the parts are only arriving this afternoon, so today's scheduled installation has been deferred to Monday. He added that he'll be installing two solid state relays rather than two contactors, saying that in his experience they "work better here"...

How do you commute to work?

Lucky man. I also have a staircase to descend, but then have to commute triple that distance to the office, via the front door.

Will you live in a tiny-house?

I'm not an expert, but I suspect one kitchen per house is sufficient.

Will you live in a tiny-house?

No thanks. My pref is for a house where I suspect it has a kitchen but I've never actually been there.

Remotely turn the Geyser on and off

Thank-you, sire. Marveloso. I called James the Sparky and fortunately he knows these well and has numerous installations. He's coming round on Friday to wire up the Sonoffs+contactors with bypass CB. Will also be fitting a POWR2 at the pool pump.

Remotely turn the Geyser on and off

Thanks, Geoff. This is beyond my pay grade. I'll ask a local sparky whether he's up to the job. Need to get this done in the next month, before abroad. Relatives might well use the house while I'm away.

Remotely turn the Geyser on and off

Interesting discussion. Marvellous to have such knowledgeable people here. My requirement has a wrinkle, and I'd appreciate any recommendations. I need to remotely switch a geyser (easy with Sonoff Basic and a contactor such as the Hager ESC227) AND also have a simple switch/CB that my wife...
