I also tested the A1 and again agree that it is rather dim, but the once in a blue moon that my 1-year-old allows me to watch a movie, it'll be a properly dark living room, so think I'll get away with it...

    Thanks for the responses If I had to give you my settings capd, it'll be a collection of every single combination. I've tried everything, and nothing helps. Turning the motion settings off makes things much worse... The 'smooth' option is best, but still, no one on earth could bear watching...
