    Betta Toilet flushing problems

The mechanism is adjustable and was set at the max which is only 6 litres in my cistern. As pointed out by Mike the red tube is too short.

    Betta Toilet flushing problems

When flushing 6 litres into the bowl containing only a minimal amount of toilet paper, the water in the bowl does not rise. A bit more than a minimal load causes water to rise about 10cm, no danger of spillage, but the remaining water in the bowl is a bit discoloured and most often has some...

    Betta Toilet flushing problems

Thank you for your advice "one poster". The bathroom floor under the toilet is near perfectly level. The plumber mentioned that during the installation and we checked it together. I have attached a photo of inside the cistern which shows the water level at the 6 litres mark, the max the...

    Betta Toilet flushing problems

Thanks everyone for all the advice. I tried pouring 12 litres of water in the bowl and it passed through without filling the bowl. Thanks for that tip - "thehuman". My problem appears to be insufficient flush. Replacing the mechanism to increase the flush from 6 to 9 litres will likely resolve...

    Betta Toilet flushing problems

Thank you Geoff, there were no pipes in between the 3 x 90 degree elbow joints, the angle of slope was only as much as the elbows would allow. The angles were adjusted to accommodate the join. It worries me that the 3 bends would slow the flow sufficiently to act as a restriction. Thank you for...

    Betta Toilet flushing problems

The poop-knife thread was hilarious, but certainly not our problem. Having maintained a home toilet for over 50 years, I am well aware of the type of blockage described (we call it a log) versus a malfunctioning toilet. A good toilet should clear an average poop, more than that I would not...

    Betta Toilet flushing problems

You are dead right, on closer inspection the cistern is more than a 6 litre tank. It could go to 9 or 10, but the mechanism is too short, hence will need to be changed. That's far less trouble and worth a try, and will likely rule out other issues. Thank you very much Mike for your good advice...

    Betta Toilet flushing problems

Thank you again Mike, I shall attach a pic of toilet and cistern. Another concern I would like to mention is: When the new toilet was installed, in order to connect the new toilet outlet pipe to the old waste pipe underground, the plumber fitted 3 drain pipe elbows in tandem creating a bend...

    Betta Toilet flushing problems

Thank you for your interesting advice Mike, much appreciated. However I have noticed that a flush mostly results in the water level rising to about half way in the bowl for the duration of the flush. The cistern is set to it's max of 6litres and I always keep the button depressed to ensure it...

    Betta Toilet flushing problems

05-04-2022 A year ago we had an entry level Betta Toilet installed by a certified plumber. The flushing was so ineffective that we complained to the plumber and supplier, CTM Richmond Park. Explanation from the supplier was that it was an entry level toilet only suitable for an outside/holiday...
