    18:40 Burning towards the tar road to the Constantiaberg mast, flames visible between the mast and beacon. Also heading down from Muizenberg peak towards Boyes again.

    Burnt up to Silverstream waterfall just before Platteklip on the western side. Still some smoke at the top of Silverstream with a chopper dropping water into the very top. And another dropping on the saddle area. It jumped below Tafelberg road in a few patches but fortunately the wind had abated...

    Only a fraction of rescues result in helicopter responses. Most are walk-off, guide back to the trail or stretcher carry. The media will only report on a few high profile cases like this one.
