First long run back. Included lots of walk breaks and still counted as threshold. Think I'm not ready for slightly steep elevation gains just yet. Need to find a flatter route.

Run without a set goal. Just wanted to see how things went.

Definitely trying to do that. Although it's more like 10 minutes on an ad hoc basis every 2nd day.

If you can't source some locally, Takealot still has them at R1999 in your size https://www.takealot.com/salomon-men-s-aero-glide-3-gravel-running-shoes/PLID99601163?size=UK+11 Might even drop a couple of bucks tomorrow for FNB day. Think lowest I've seen was R1899.

True. And staying consistent. Last time I was mostly back to normal after about 4 or 5 runs.

Second run back after illness/knee issues. It's disheartening to see how much my HR has tanked. Hopefully it'll get better in a couple more runs. At least this one counted as base although I had to take some walk intervals.

I was wrong. I did a half in the GRVL version. The 16K was my first ever run in the normal road version and my first run back after being sick (which resulted in my knee issue, but that was not the shoe. It was me being stupid doing too much too quickly). The GRVl has more rubber and should...

I love them. Did every kind of run in them including a 16km long run. Definitely prefer the feel over the Novablast 5 which feels too soft for me. I did opt for the GRVL version though. I liked it so much that I got 3 more backup pairs. For paces faster than 4:00/km it might be a bit bulky...

Have a 'few' pairs. However I tend to just grab the Aero Glide 3s for almost everything now. But I haven't been running for almost more than a month. Slowly starting again.

The Pure doesn't have a carbon plate. Should be very similar to Velocity Nitro.

First run back after knee issue. Felt good with no knee pain (so far), but HR and zones look terrible. Fitness took quite a hit. Might have been ambitious to return on a 3x8:00 tempo session, but thought it would be fine since I had 3 min recovery inbetween to fall back on. Loads of work to...

Did you try the Deviate Nitro Pure?

I see the Velocity Nitro 5 is also out now. https://za.puma.com/pd/velocity-nitrotm-5-running-shoes-men/312944.html?color=05 Wonder if it's still as narrow in the midsole as the V4.

Yeah, their naming is getting a bit confusing. The Deviate Nitro were always the shoes with the carbon plate. Now they have the Deviate Pure Nitro without the plate. Which is basically a direct competitor to the Velocity Nitro 4. I'm a bit skittish for carbon plates. My Deviate Nitro 3 gave me...

I think you are confusing it with the Deviate. The Deviate Pure Nitro is the newest shoe. There wasn't a version last year. Pure Nitro doesn't have a carbon plate.
