I responded on the other thread already. Same for this thread: they are legit and I received excellent service. Bought a Samsung 970 Pro. Cannot be happier.
I bought a Samsung 970 Pro from them. What a pleasure. Great comms, mail responses, delivered quick. Amazing price! Spoke to Martin, good business. What else can I say? Will use them again.
On my MF286C I manually selected MTN 3G and registered. Nope, does not work.
I can confirm that Telkom prepaid LTE does work on 3G when manually selected on said router.
Additionally, I had to disable roaming via USSD on Telkom. It insisted upon roaming and hence broke my Telkom network only...
My Afrihost MTN Fixed LTE was working well enough for two months. The last week the link is up for minutes or hours then it goes down. There is severe packet loss too. Afrihost support, well, let me update that incident in another post.
The ZTE MF286 router LED goes from blue to green and...
I went out to Bashewa AH today to test. Surprise surprise. I was expecting the SIM to not be activated which is always the case. The router booted and got LTE signal.
Downloaded a KNOPPIX ISO from ftp.is.co.za: 91Mbps.
Ping 196.25.1.1 with an average response time of 40ms.
Can't complain...

That is correct sir. Please have them fix that so people don't succumb to more of the same. Thank you. That been said, please ask them to fix their site: the images are for the MF286A (with battery), NOT for the MF286C (no battery).
Screenshots show the MF286C with battery compartment and the 2nd footnote states:
"2 Download speed and Battery Life are dependent on a variety of factors such as number of devices connected and signal strength. Your connection speed will also be determined by the maximum speed supported on the...
My apologies, I never did my homework. I blindly followed the AfriHost website recommendation of MTN. Using Cellmapper, I see the closest MTN tower is about 35km away. But wait, Cellmapper shows the closest Telkom tower as a few hundred metres away! I'm bewildered. Why would AfriHost recommend...
I just paid for the Afrihost Pure LTE fixed MTN package and the router was delivered yesterday.
Big disappointment. The router, a MF286C is not what is shown on their site. They show the MF286A which has a battery. Okay, so no battery. Robbed.
Then, their spec document for said router on their...
