Ramaphosa insists SA economy tripled at the helm of ANC government

Co-pilot proves this fcuker wrong in 3 seconds: In 1994, the GDP was 2.389 trillion. The GDP has grown to 4.627 trillion in 2023. This signifies a 93.7% growth across this period. When factoring in population growth, GDP growth from 1994 to 2023 stands at 28% Therefore, the GDP has not even...

Catching our missing cat with home cameras, a mobile router, mini-UPS, and plenty of patience

Great job ! I would suggest to just get a GPS cat collar. Also , the dates in the article are a bit off : On Sunday, 7 January 2023, a woman on one of the missing pet Facebook groups commented on a post that she had seen a ginger cat that looked like Molly hunting for something near one of the...

South Africa has 27.3 million people on grants – but only 7.1 million taxpayers

Well actually SA only has 5.9 million real tax payers. The 1 230 835 employed in the public sector would be included in the figures of tax payers but that's disingenuous. https://www.dpsa.gov.za/thepublicservant/2022/03/09/govt-remains-largest-employer-in-sa-min-dlodlo/

Huge increase in Luno's trading fees starting 8 June.

Luno's trade volume is already 30% below VALR. Luno: VALR: This was before the massive fee increases. This really does seem like a terrible long-term decision for Luno.

Cost of moving from CPT overseas (preferably to Spain or Portugal or somewhere else warm in Europe) vs Cost of isolating myself from load shedding

I am a EU citizen. But if you are able to work remotely , then the Digital Nomad Residency Visa would be the easiest route.

Cost of moving from CPT overseas (preferably to Spain or Portugal or somewhere else warm in Europe) vs Cost of isolating myself from load shedding

Moved to the Algarve at the beginning of the year and we are loving it here. Beaches are beautiful , people are very friendly and helpful. I would say 80% speak English. Weather is pretty good , from April to end of October it will average between 25 and 30 degrees. Winter is not too bad , with...

VoWIFI when oustide of South Africa

Vodacom Vowifi has worked for me while travelling in the EU and UK. Yes , local SA rates were charged. It works well but it seems Vodacom supports very few phones with Vowifi. It doesn't work on my Xiaomi but works on my cheap tablet for some reason.

UK allegedly forcing South Africans to pass quiz in Afrikaans before letting them fly in

Pretty difficult to prove a negative... The lack of video evidence is also pretty damning. People film everything these days but won't film an airline worker demanding you to fill in an Afrikaans only form. Not saying it's not happening, but the onus is on the people making the claim to have...

South Africa’s NHI is coming – whether you like it or not: government

What the actual **** is this dude on about: “Many poor people are denied care when they need it. Many privileged people are given treatment that they don’t need – some potentially harmful,” Medical aid barely pays for necessary treatment

https://catanddogsure.co.za/ Very happy with these guys. Paid for my dogs knee op and physio afterwards. They also seem to have fewer exclusions than the other providers.
