I have implemented the protocol according to what I saw from my motor as an ESPhome component:

I also made a PCB:

Testing still needs to be done on another DC Blue Advanced. I know someone in town with one...
Hi @RoganDawes thanks a lot for this!
Today I bought one of these CBI Astute plugs from Builders. First thing I did was to open it up to check which chip it uses. First Google result was this thread.
I managed to flash a bare ESPhome firmware onto it, and that is running nicely. Now to...
Lol, funny thing is I only bought this device because of it's nice enclosure. Flashing it with custom firmware is as easy as plugging it into your computer and creating a new device in ESPhome.
I added these two lines at the end of the ESPhome yaml config file for the device, to convert it into...
I'm trying to reverse engineer the e-coms protocol of the DC Blue Advanced motor: https://mybroadband.co.za/forum/threads/et-nice-dc-blue-advanced-e-comms.1280627/

I have captured the output on the Data+ terminal of my DC Blue Advanced with a logic analyser in PulseView. Data- stays low all the time, so it does not have data on it. Maybe Data- is...
Yes I agree something strange is up with Afrihost+Frogfoot. I woke up with no Internet, while the ONT lights were all good. Replugged my router and tested again. Saw that I now sit behind a CG-NAT.
Do co.za domains support DNSSEC yet?
If I have a domain that has Afrihost as registrar, but Cloudflare as Nameservers, how do I add the DS record on Afrihost?
Here are Cloudflare's instructions, but I don't see anywhere to fill this in on Afrihost Clientzone...
I also took the AirMobile deal today, installed the eSim on my Pixel 8, and started getting bombarded by "this is your number" SMSs and "restart your device" push notifications. Afrihost Whatsapp told me to delete and re-add the eSim. I haven't received these SMSs or push notifications again...
Just had another outage of a couple of minutes, Frogfoot, Welgevonden, Stellenbosch. Again MTR showed 100% loss between my router and the first next hop.
(screenshot from after it came back up, slowly decreasing loss from 100%)
Yes, worked perfectly when I woke up.
Interesting that your pings are over IPv6 now. I've been struggling to get IPv6 working on Afrihost+Frogfoot for almost a year now. Checked again this morning and my DHCP6 requests still remain unanswered. We're in the same neighbourhood on the same GPON...
I think vodacom gets overloaded whenever something is up with our fibre, because everyone climbs on mobile Internet. MTN must have less coverage or better capacity. Afrihost on mtn works OK for now.
