Hi guys,
I have an issue and I'm hoping you can help to give me some answers. My dad bought a third party decoder so that he can watch free-to-air channels without having to set them up constantly on the DSTV decoder (for some reason the DSTV decoder keeps deleting the settings for these...
Hi guys and girls,
I just want to find out if anyone experienced issues with the October DSTV update. Two of my new channels are not working: 105 and 108. I tried rescanning, but no difference. I can't remember the message displayed on the screen. Will get that tonight. Also, when I stay on...
Just some interesting info for the people still following my rambling. Today I used my fully charged, jailbroken iPad to read documents and listen to music and the battery dropped with 11% over two hours. I guess it has something to do with the discharge curve of lithium-polymer batteries, where...
Sorry for not giving feedback on Friday, but was away from my PC and internet. I did a complete restore on my iPad 2 and ran the test again and got exactly the same results. The battery dropped by 10% in about an hour. So, in short, jailbreaking didn't affect battery life. I guess that I...
I will restore tonight, run the test and give some feedback tomorrow. Thanks for suggesting a couple of Cydia tweaks to try out once this experiment is over
Maybe sandmanm34 has a point. I just did the second test and I've decided to keep the screen on, but turned Wi-fi and 3G off. The battery dropped from 50% to around 40% in an hour. I found the specs of the iPad on the Apple site and it is: "Up to 10 hours of surfing the web on Wi-Fi, watching...
If I'm not mistaking, the spesifications provided by Apple is 10 hours battery life while web browsing using Wi-Fi, and 9 hours using 3G. I'll look it up online. I figured that turning 3G and Wi-fi off, with the screen brightness on 40% would improve battery life.
Ok, after some struggle to restore my iPad 2 to 4.3.3, I re-jailbroke it but didn't install any applications from Cydia. I've just listened to .mp3s for over an hour and the battery dropped from 52% to 50%. I'm going to do a similar test with a PDF open and see how it affects battery life. For...
Thanks for your feedback.
I read elsewhere on the forum that there were some people experiencing issues with that. I was hoping the update fixes more issues. Thanks for clarifying.
No, I haven't. This is a good idea. I didn't install any apps except Installous and SBSettings, but this...
Yes I did, but it didn't make a significant difference. I'm starting to think I should try a restore and then jailbreak again. That it supposed to use comex's new jailbreak. Maybe it makes a difference.
So, nobody else experiencing battery issues??
I thought that since the jailbreak is based on an PDF exploit, that this issue might only occur when I read PDFs, but I was wrong. It seems like this is not application dependent.
Thanks for you reply, JStrike. It is a bit strange. It seems like a random occurance. Some people on the internet report rapid drainage of the battery, whereas some say they hardly notice any difference after jailbreaking their iPads. I jailbroke my iPhone and didn't have any issues afterwards...
Hi guys,
I just want to find out something from the guys with jailbroken iPad 2's.
I jailbroke mine when the official jailbreak was released (I'm on 4.3.3) and installed Installous and SBSettings. After a couple of days not really using my iPad much, I started reading a PDF on it while...
lol, nevermind guys. I read something on the internet today which I completely ignored the first time I restored my iphone: the activation part. On my first restore I was impatient and disconnected the phone everytime after the restore, which didn't give iTune time to activate my phone on the...
