I have a 1mbps line with Axxess which was the highest our line was stable at, and despite their saying everyone would get a “free” upgrade to 5mbps they have almost tripled my invoice.
Called the Accounts dept on their 087 number (isn’t that premium rate?) sat on hold for ages then hung up...
My high battery drain was when the network mode was set to LTE. When I changed it back to 3G the battery usage went back to normal.
I repeated this recently when my battery drain was high and checked the mobile network setting, it had somehow reverted to LTE. Set back to 3G it is fine.

My battery usage was absolutely fine on the MTN APN. On Afrihost, I used the phone in Cape Town and Joburg and it was bad in both places.
Same problem of high battery drain with Afrihost APN (MTN sim card) led me to find this post. When I changed my network settings to 3G/2G only (ie. LTE off) the battery usage has gone back to normal.
Afrihost support unhelpful.
Using an MTN sim card on Afrihost APN drains the battery more than twice as fast as on MTN APN, even when on wifi most of the time. Anyone else? Afrihost support agent in denial mode.
