    lmao yeah, the gate is pretty far from the house so all the wiring for the gate, pool and driveway lighting is located in an outdoor 'service room' next to the gate. Doesn't get attention very often so its become a nest. I cleaned it a bit to see the cabling better. Not sure if that helps.

    Yes, I believe so. The motor is powered from the mains but idealy I would like: power -> batteries -> control board -> gate motor.

    I did speak to a Hansa Gates representative and they said I need to upgrade the system to have backup power which is unfortunate. But I'm going to look into chrisc's suggestion. Thanks.

    Thanks for the kindness, @netstrider. I do indeed have a couple extra Cat 6 lying around. The distance is around 20m. I think ill just go with @ld13 's suggestion and just use PoE adapters to power the main router.

    Yes, this is the case. Frustrating that they lock down the ONTs tho. Especially since the actual box can apparently be used as a router yet another router is needed. Security reasons?
