Suzuki sets a new world record in South Africa

It was such a great event. Will absolutely join the next one in 2027 as well. A mistake in the article though: "The weekend also saw the return of the Suzuki Safari Town Festival, which was held at the Louvain Guest Farm in the Western Cape." The festival was held in Oudtshoorn. The guinness...

Mike, who are you using for this job?

    Water usage monitoring

Yes Apparently so. It can supposedly handle pressures up to 15 bar. Water pressure in our area is around 8 bar as far as I know. Been up and running for 2 weeks now, no leaks or problems thus far.

    Water usage monitoring

I recently built myself a water flow monitor using an inline flow sensor, Raspberry Pi Pico W and a few other things. Was reasonably easy. The sensor isn't super accurate though and seems to under read by approx 15%, but I'll just 'fix' that in HA or the firmware. Sounds like you're comfortable...

    3d Printers South Africa

I had this same problem recently on my K1. Turns out that the thermal paste between the ceramic heater and the nozzle was all dried out. Applying new paste fixed the issue. I suspect that this will become a regular maintenance task, unless a proper thermal paste that doesn't dry out is used I...

Entry-level Virtual Private Server price comparison - April 2024

That would be great Jade - I'd love to rather support a local company.

Entry-level Virtual Private Server price comparison - April 2024

I've been running a small dedicated game server (via Steam) on a VPS for the past 7 years. Costs me about R200 p/m for 2vCPUs, 2GB RAM, 10GB storage and 1TB bandwitdh (@500Mbps). Not issues whatsoever. In the last 7 years I've had so little down time, I couldn't even call it that. They do have...

    Swimming Pool resurfacing

Can anyone perhaps recommend a reputable company in the Pretoria area that can do epoxy resurfacing on marbelite pools?

    Vintage Computers

Anyone perhaps have a 8 or 16 bit ISA VGA card that they're willing to sell? Or, perhaps a working Hercules/CGA monitor? I've got an old 286 I'd like to get up and running, but It only has a Hercules/CGA capable video card.

    interesting mess up from Messalot,

Has happened to me. Ordered a MPPT controller, but got a kettle instead. I just requested to return the parcel, via their web site, stating that the wrong item was delivered. They picked it up a day later and called me another day or so after that. The item I purchased wasn't in stock, so they...

Electricity meter runs even when main switch is off in house

It's also possible that you're looking at the wrong meter / wrong meter is linked to your house. Happened to me. I was paying for my neighbors electricity and vice versa.

Eskom’s plan to force people to switch off geysers and home appliances

Just imagine the chaos that will ensue when things go wrong with this system (and it's not an if..**** will go wrong). You'll live in a home with an electricity supply that's in limp mode when its not supposed to be in limp mode.... This could probably work in a 1st world country, but not here...

Are laptops less likely to pop due to load shedding? (Second desktop motherboard gone in two years)

I used to lose a lot of PC power supplies many years ago, due to the poor quality AC power delivered by our friendly EKSDOM. On average, had to purchase a new PSU every 2 years. But I've never lost a motherboard that way. I suspect (apologies if already covered tl;dr it all), that your existing...
