Are DSTV now perhaps using AI to write generic filler for the TV guide? I know it's never been the most accurate, but to give a recent example, here is what the guide said about today's stage of the Giro d'Italia Women cycling race. Bear in mind that today was a mountain time trial, so the type...
Yes, we've had the Gizzu 60W/69Wh LFP model on our router for years, still going strong. When I was talking about the 'identikit lithium ion models' I meant ones like this little non-LFP 32Wh model (pic below) one saw all over the place in different branding. Which was fine at the time, and we...
Been a few years since I looked at these, so I'm glad to see LFP becoming more widespread in the small router UPS bracket... have had a larger Gizzu LFP model on the router for a long time now but I remember the smaller units from various brands all used to be those identikit "lithium ion"...
I remember using usenet for those discussions back in the late 90s, think I was on MWEB dial-up here and they had a usenet server. Many of the discussions were great, but one could also unexpectedly come across some really dodgy stuff if not careful, sometimes when I see someone complaining...
Ah, ok. I just use the command line option for both these tools so not too familiar with the extension (with get-iplayer I just get the links off the BBC site and download directly, I don't bother with all the indexing of the tv guide/search approach which I think I recall the the gui favours).
An alternative to the iPlayer app is to use a tool to download what you want and store it on your own media server (some content is removed from iPlayer quite quickly), eg get_iplayer. Obviously tools like this only work if you are in the UK, so if you are travelling outside the UK you'll need a...
Got a message on the app today about the "4 anywhere streams until 31st December", I knew they were doing this for decoder packages but as we only have a streaming sub these days I wasn't sure when/if it would be extended to these too.
From one stream at the start of the year (+ any mobile-only...
In the end the person who asked my opinion on this model went with something else, but I decided to order one myself as I had wanted a more capable portable option and R6999 for 1600W/1536Wh/LFP seemed a good deal.
The Takealot description is vague and just says it comes with a charging cable...
Answered my own question in the end, it is pure sine wave as expected. If anyone else is interested, it seems these units are made by Skyworth in China but branded differently depending on the market they're sold in, for example this is the same unit sold in Canada...
A friend of mine is thinking of getting this unit and asked my opinion (I had suggested a Gizzu but it's been a while since I looked into the options for portable power stations tbh). R6,999 seems a good price for 1600W / 1536Wh / LFP cells / UPS, but I can't find confirmation anywhere online...
I can't say I've ever had that on my 2nd gen, think I had two system updates in the years I've had it. And for app updates I just turned the auto-update off in settings so I choose when to update those.
