Please do a MyBroadband speed test on Rain

Rain 5G Ping: 20ms Download: 93.57Mbps Upload: 87.28Mbps RSRP -69 dB RSRQ -10 dB SINR 10 dB External modem on an 8 m mast because I am outside the Rain coverage area. These are surprising results but they are confirmed by my subjective experience. The service is a pleasure to use.

Ah, the bitterness of those who haven't retired. I delight in the thought of you working to support my lifestyle. Naturally you don't feel the same way.

    Rain Network unusable

Hi lava, I completely agree with you. This is the solution I suggest. Rain already maintains the map of Rain towers which is available for us to view. All they need do is extend the functionality of this map by : 1) Colouring the symbol to show its operational status. Different colours could...

Frequent loss of connection over the last four days in Newton Park

I am experiencing frequent loss of connection over the last four days in Newton Park, Port Elizabeth. The connection goes down every two to three minutes and the duration is anything from two seconds to about 55 seconds, making the connection almost unusable. I have attached a portion of the log...

Has Rain started blocking NTP packets?

I also have a Rain 4G modem. If I connect via this modem I can send/receive NTP packets. But if I switch back to the Rain 5G modem I can no longer do this. I also tested this on my smartphone, using the apps Atomic Time and AtomicClock. Both work on the 4G network but neither work on the 5G network.

Has Rain started blocking NTP packets?

Several days ago my Android TV box stopped getting time/date updates when I switch on the box and the box thus defaults to a 2018 date. This causes havoc because Netflix, Youtube and Play store refuse to allow access from stations with old dates. I checked my Linux box and my Smart phone. They...

No. This is specific to Huawei modems. The app uses their proprietary command set.

    Rain 5G premium Limits

Yes, what Ramiro said is true. Below is an extract from my log file, taken while doing a speed test. This is data reported by the Huawei modem itself. I am trialing the premium service: My download speed peaked at 100 Mbit/sec. I suspect this is heavily dependent on signal strength. My signal...
