Several days ago my Android TV box stopped getting time/date updates when I switch on the box and the box thus defaults to a 2018 date. This causes havoc because Netflix, Youtube and Play store refuse to allow access from stations with old dates. I checked my Linux box and my Smart phone. They are also not receiving network time from the time servers.
On my Linux box I used ntpdig with a variety of time servers, always getting back the message "no eligible servers"
ntpdate -d pool.ntp.org also gives the message "no eligible servers"
My 5G modem, under Advanced|System|Time settings also gives the wrong time, though the local time zone is set to Pretoria.
It looks therefore as if NTP time packets are being blocked by the network. Is this the case?
