    Vodacom extortion

I have the contracts so that we can upgrade phones when necessary. I usually take the cheapest one, but I still can't afford to buy it outright from Takealot etc. It's more affordable to pay for it monthly than in one upfront payment. That is the ONLY reason I have a contract (or rather...

    Vodacom extortion

Nope. My son has an MTN contract (which I pay for - he was wise and didn't want Vodacom), and his phone identifies numbers and there is no CLIP R10 on his bill.

    Vodacom extortion

Trust me, I will be moving over to MTN when my contracts end - all four of them. So much for being a loyal customer for 20 years ...

    Vodacom extortion

It's new to me. Been a customer for 20 years, NEVER even heard of it before now.

    Vodacom extortion

That when people call you, you can see who is calling. Mine simply says "hidden number" or "unknown number", so you can't see who is calling and can't block the damned telemarketers.

    Vodacom extortion

I did apologise for the long rant. Cliffsnotes version: Vodacom are extorting an extra R10 per month to "unlock" the number identification service. Since when?

    Vodacom extortion

To add to my thread, no other telecoms service provider charges customers for number identification. Why does Vodacom think they can get away with this?

    Vodacom extortion

Hi all, I want to know if anybody else is suffering this absolute extortion from Vodacom. Sorry for the long rant, but need to get it all out of my system. Been a Vodacom customer for almost 20 years. I have never, ever, ever in my life had to pay an extra R10 per month to "unlock" the...

What is the use of an Openserve appointment?

Can somebody please explain to me what is the use of an appointment, ARRANGED BY OPENSERVE, as they do not bother to honour the appointment? No feedback, no explanation, and certainly no apology. So one is expected to sit at home all day waiting for a useless service provider who does not bother...

Rain - worst internet in the world

Huge shout out to Linray Samuels who actually took the time to ensure that my problem was sorted. I am now finally connected once again. Thank you, Linray, for phoning me back when you said you would and for sorting this out. I can now once again earn a living!

Rain - worst internet in the world

In my experience, they're trying to force a 5G card to latch onto a 4G tower, and it doesn't always work. Put the 4G card in the router, beautiful connection, but the 4G card only has 2gig data on it. Ask Rain to increase the data (at their expense of course as I have already paid for a...

Rain - worst internet in the world

To show how bad their service is, this is my interaction with them on Sunday: 8:24 – requested a call back as I couldn’t connect to rain – no callback. 8.25 Sunday 26 November – Amanda – will phone back in 10 mins. Still waiting for the call back. 09:15 Sunday 26 November – Thulani – will...

Rain - worst internet in the world

So, still fighting with Random Access INternet aka Rain (sorry Jam Sandwich, I'm soooo stealing that one!). I briefly had internet on Saturday, and now nothing again. Rain cannot explain to me why the 4G sim card that is supposed to go into my phone connects beautifully when I insert it in the...
