What beats me though is the fact that I even plugged in an electric pump and diesel gushes out of the pipe that sends fuel to the diesel pump but not out of the high pressure pump that feeds the injectors.
There is no relay that turns on the pump per se. The pump is directly controlled by the ECU (via the suction control valve). The timing belt turns the pump sprocket but fuel suction and delivery is controlled by the ECU through the suction control valve. There is the main relay that powers up...
