    Input sensors responsible for injectof pulse are crank and cam sensors... there is rpm signal.

    What beats me though is the fact that I even plugged in an electric pump and diesel gushes out of the pipe that sends fuel to the diesel pump but not out of the high pressure pump that feeds the injectors.

    The d4d 2.5L does not have an electric pump. Minevus the 2.5. I think the 3.0L 1KD do havd it.

    This one does not have an electric fuel pump. It only has the pump attached to the engine.

    There is no relay that turns on the pump per se. The pump is directly controlled by the ECU (via the suction control valve). The timing belt turns the pump sprocket but fuel suction and delivery is controlled by the ECU through the suction control valve. There is the main relay that powers up...

    Thanks gents, filter was checked too, it is fine. The priming pump squits plenty of fuel when pressed. The only problem is that the pump is not supplying it to the injectors.     Hello everyone, I am new to the forum... I have a Toyota D4D 2KD bakkie that cranks but does not start. If you spray starter fluid, it starts. I have checked all fuses, all relays and wires... all is well. The thing is, tgd pump is not pushing out diesel, only a few teaspoons here and there...
