Our plugs use an ESP32C3 Chip inside
Since Tasmota v13 these should support Matter https://tasmota.github.io/docs/Matter/
Although we must be honest and say we haven't tested this yet.
Hi @katastrofie,
We have an order on the way, it shipped short while ago, so we are hoping they will be in later this week, or very early next week.
We had hoped they would have arrived a week or two ago, but the Year end festive shipping rush has thrown a spanner in the works.
We will pop...
Hi everyone,
We wanted to provide an update regarding the latest batches of CBI Astute Smart Controllers. It appears that units manufactured circa November 2025 and likely beyond have undergone a hardware revision that affects both the internal Wi-Fi module and PCB layout.
What has changed...
The plugs on our site are flashed from the factory.
Our passion for everything cloud free started with out own personal projects way before SmartPad came into existence. Before we dreamed of having plugs manufactured, we were on the look out for plugs that could be flashed for our personal use...
We would recommend avoiding plugs that look like this. They are exceptionally well ultrasonically welded together which includes right around the recessed portion at the front. which makes it even more challenging.
We have failed (more than once) to get one open in any way that left it...
Has anyone had a look at the new Sonoff MG24 Dongles?
These new dongles claim to have much further range. They support ZigBee and Thread in One, which opens them up to Matter.
We are thinking about bringing in a few of these, so would love to gauge interest.
We definitely agree with this approach. If you connect your Geyserwise to Home Assistant, you can control when your geyser turns on in a very granular way, even using spare PV as the trigger to turn the geyser on. Electricity costs of sub R200 are very easy to achieve like this, and a geyser is...
Hi,
1. No, these plugs are manufactured with an ESP-32 Chipset and flashed by the factory.
2. This is like asking if BMW or Mercedes is better :) It really depends on your preference, and where you are at in your "smart world". Tasmota will require MQTT configuration on Home Assistant, while...
Hi @acidrain, were sorry to hear you are having trouble with your device.
The MiniR4 has an ESP32 Chip in it, so you are correct that the firmware build will be different to the conventional sonoff Basic which runs the predecessor ESP8266.
The firmware builds are available here...
We have been testing the Linknlink Devices, they present the Learned IR codes to Home assistant via Mqtt... its very slick, and the Mqtt connection to HA is local (it does require the app to setup the Mqtt config and learn new devices though). We aren't stocking them (yet) but they deffinatley...
The GeyserWise comes with the WBR3 Chip which is not yet listed as "Supported"
It may be possible to get it working as the generic RTL8720CF, but we haven't had any luck with this
From what we understand though, as per this video, it seems you need to access pads on the back of the board...
