Are there any known issues on Vumatel / Cool Ideas in Somerset West today? I work from home and every few minutes there's a hiccup, no data coming through, websites stop loading, streaming services gets interrupted (Youtube, Spotify etc.) and then a few seconds to a couple of minutes later it...
Good afternoon, there was a Vuma infrastructure outage in Firgrove (Somerset West, Western Cape) yesterday morning at 10:20, internet came back after 13:00 but my internet was sloooow the entire day (2 Mbps down, 90 Mbps up). It sort of normalised around midnight last night. However today it is...
Yeah that is just not good, I am guessing the latency will be at least 200 for people who need to go through CPT to JHB first. This brings me full circle back to weighing up price premium vs performance.
I work for a company in EU so international traffic is important to me not only for gaming.
I've been with Cool Ideas for over 5 years, and currently I am on Vuma infra. I have been willing to pay a premium up to now for stable ping and good routing, however there are some excellent BF deals floating around, not to mention I currently pay way more than other providers (only comparing...
Seems very stable after restoration, however my Escape From Tarkov ping to SA server is 167 which is higher than to EU (150). Somerset West, Vumatel. It should be around 20 or therabouts. Is there weird routing going on to mitigate the aforementioned issues?
Internet was barely working. I restarted my router and ONT - this was a big mistake, now my PPPoE can't reconnect. Also, my neighbourhood group is buzzing and everyone can see it's just Cool Ideas having issues - really bad publicity. I don't know what to tell everyone that I have been...
As far as I can tell the entire De Velde estate (Somerset West) Vumatel fibre is out since about an hour ago. Does anyone have any updates to what's causing the outage? Our fibre ONTs has no service/broadband at all.
I've posted here before and I will post once more because I am getting nowhere with support. Regular drops at night, and now slow speeds less than 1% of line speed (not to mention the packet loss and very high latency). Vumatel, Somerset West. I'm being given the runaround and no one knows what...
Is it normal or acceptable, for my connection to drop on a daily basis, usually in the evening, sometimes for up to 10 minutes. Do I just have to make peace with the fact that it is not Cool Ideas but in fact Vumatel just fiddling with the network at this hour of the day? And why would this be...
Completely agree. I started monitoring around half an hour ago using a sensor in Home Assistant but it has been ongoing the entire day like this, and it was way worse earlier.
