Am I losing my memory or something?
I distinctly recall that when I signed up for 5G in October 2019, I was told to "buy" the 5G router for R1000 (once off, over and above the monthly price) and would be able to keep it even after cancelling.
Well, I just cancelled and have been asked to give...
Hahaha, who said I was a good person? :P
Happy to answer any questions when I get the time though, stupid busy week. Probably only get skme good playtime on Sunday
Hope you guys get sorted out as well.
Being relatively new tech, I'm used to the service being a little unstable, but it should at least be unstable on the 5G network.
Same here, been down since Saturday. I do have 4G signal, but that's not what I'm paying for.
Rain support was great while I was chatting to them, unfortunately the problem hasn't been fixed.
Don't know what Rain did this past week while I was away, but I went from 150-200 down and 4 up to this...

Thanks for the super in-depth reply, I suppose they can't go around giving $2k pieces of equipment to everyone.
It's mainly my upload speed I want to improve, but it almost seems easier to just get a cheap fibre line going just for that.
Anyone else's router randomly reset to factory defaults and just can't connect anymore?
www.rain.co.za seems to be down for maintenance as well. Might be related
That was my initial thought as well, but it would mean something dodgy is going with either Poynting or Takealot.
Pic of the product code/SN on the antenna which matches the one in their tech specs:
Hey
Did you ever sort out the antenna issues?
I managed to get one of these https://poynting.tech/product/omni-600-02/ from Takealot but as soon as I plug it in, the router drops the 5G connection and stays on 4G till I unplug it.
I tried playing around with the antenna settings on the router...
