Am I losing my memory or something?

I distinctly recall that when I signed up for 5G in October 2019, I was told to "buy" the 5G router for R1000 (once off, over and above the monthly price) and would be able to keep it even after cancelling.
Well, I just cancelled and have been asked to give back the router.

Does anybody else remember something along those lines?

Hi @Supes

Please provide me with your email via PM

Hi

Please note that in the early days of rain 5G there was a point where customers were able to purchase the router when taking out the 5G , but since then there has been change is policy , however if you are part of those who have agreed to purchase the device and need confirmation , you can always drop me a PM with your email address so that I can check on it and confirm this for you.

I know that because I signed up for 5G right in the beginning I basically bought my router, but I know from a friend who had 5G as well that he had to return the router when he got fibre, I can confirm that at some point they changed the way you signed up, it depends on what your agreement was with them :-/

So what about those who are not able to PM you?

I just had a massive argument with someone in customer support because she refused to listen when I told her I was trying to cancel my subscription but couldn't bypass the address field at which the router needs to be collected. I told her I paid for my router in 2019 and would not be returning it. She cancelled my subscription but insisted the router needs to be returned. It's beyond frustrating trying to reason with people who don't know what they are doing.
