So Mazda has joined the touchscreen world. Not sure how I feel about that. Really dig the current set up where I don't need to stretch to a screen. Overall, don't like the front lights. Most of the renderings by the internet looked better. Wonder what pricing will look like.

So I have done 8000 km with the new car. V belt tensioner still quiet, which is the most I have done without it making a noise. My observations so far, vs previous model. Aircon : minimum seems to be 3 degrees higher than on previous model. Font on infotainment seems to be a little bigger.

They seem to be a known problem, not sure if any changes have been made with the engines being unchanged.

I need to replace my CX 5 later this year, and was looking for something with a turbo engine. The entry models, the speedometre. Are those just digits for a speedo ?

Depends. If you had a turbo before, it will feel underpowered, not helped by software on the auto box, which kicks down constantly.

Fuel consumption on the open road is also very dependent on the wind. I saw that the new CX 30 has launched at the same price as the CX5. Guess I won't be able to afford the new CX 5 then, as Mazda continues with their drive into the more premium market.

Makes you wonder about the 100 and something point checks they always say they do if they could not pick up all these faults but it could be picked up after you bought it. At least you sorted.
