What are my options for porting my prepaid number over to Telkom?
The PortMe sms service reports that it is temporarilly suspended (for the past week so far).
The call centre agents tell me to visit the store to RIca my sim card, but my Sim Card was already Rica'd and i am not too happy to go...
Just a final update, I ran seperate power from a 12v DC powersupply. It seems like the garage motor has some strange volatages coming out of it so I figured I would just avoid using it to power the sonoff altogether.
I will get back in the garage and go over everything one more time to make sure its nothing stupid i am missing.
I removed the hard wired control pad that was conencted to the same connections i am trying to use, and that was all functioning before I removed it.
Now that i think about it, the...
It measures 19v. When the Sonoff is connected the voltage drops down to 9v.
I do not have a buck converter, but i am thinking of just running a cable from the 12v power supply that feeds to the gate motor.
I did, and i double checked it with the multimeter.
The strange thing is the black IC on the back of the sonoff gets warm to the touch after maybe 5 minutes.
I can't help but think something is shorting out the device, but i just cannot figure out what.
Just to bring this topic back from the dead, it doesnt seem like the Sonoff SV is actually dead. Its working completely fine in another project.
However, a second Sonoff SV i have installed into the garage is also not working.
I have attached a crude diagram of how it is currently connected...
I was using an IFTTT originally. I have since switched to using the home assistant companon app. Trying to keep as much of my environment running off a single ecosystem.
I will be switching the phone to become an always on dashboard for the kitchen. Its only a small screen but its good enough...
Thats not a bad idea. I currently use an old cell phone (Old Sony Xperia Z) permanently connected to the charger. If the power goes off it updates our telegram group to notify us the power is out.
Possibly, i have a second one that i will give another shot with.
I have found that the garage door motor has a 24v and a 12v output, i will give the 12v out a go this time.
I recently installed a Sonoff SV as a dry contact for my garage door motor.
For some reason the device kept going offline at random intervals and i would need to power cycle it to bring it back online.
After this afternoon, i went to power cycle the device but it did not come back online.
I...
