MyBB Motorcycle Owners Thread (2nd gear)

I have had the DB killer out of my bike for a couple weeks, it's crazy loud, too loud. yesterday went for a ride and for the first time in my 9 years of riding cars were parting like I was Moses. Still it's too loud so the DB killer is going back in today.

    Lifetime Plex Pass price change

Sure it could use more refinement which is why i use Wholphin front end, but it's not just a concept, it works very well and as i mention faster than plex. When is the last time you used Jellyfin, cause I have had no issue playing 4k dolby atmos and vision files. in fact this was the first...

    Lifetime Plex Pass price change

Wow what a joke, I created a jellyfin lxc to test alongside Plex, and jellyfin is actually faster than Plex (direct play) the only thing i hand to Plex is the interface is well polished, but I installed Wholphin and that does very well on the TV. In the next month I will be fully migrated to...

Medium solar system advice (16kW inverter, 3x5.12kWh batteries, 10x 605w panels)

I have 6.8kwp + 15kwh batteries and 2x 5kw inverters, stove is gas. I use about 23kwh per day. Geyser runs only during the day, I agree with adding more panels now rather than later. I am 99% off grid. Below my eskom import since 08-2024

Has anyone made their own way of connecting their inverter to a Home Assistant?

it can run on a pi zero w, it's pretty light, but yeah still going to cost you for license + hardware. https://solar-assistant.io/shop

I have luxpower inverters and use solarassistant which then is integrated to HA. It will cost you though.

Small solar advice (5KVA hybrid system)

Was waiting for this, despite my pic showing eskom voltage, I actually do not generally have eskom switched on. My eskom usage since August 2024.

Small solar advice (5KVA hybrid system)

lol harsh, I don't find it complicated, could most certainly be better but it works. there have been firmware updates, the 2 inverters are in the garage shared wall to my lounge, i.e they are mount literally behind me when sitting on the couch, and I don't hear them even a little. 10kw (2x5kw)...

Small solar advice (5KVA hybrid system)

My panels are rated for 6780wp 2 strings of 6 panels, which them go into 2 mppt in parrallel, so panels aren't parrallel mppt are. I have seen over 8kw before, when everything is cool on rainy days and the sun suddenly comes out it sustains over 7.5kw before everything warms up.

What everyone else said, but also, you can run them parrallel. I have 2x luxpower 5kw inverters (2 mppt channels per inverter) with 12 panels. 6 panels each inverter, but not 3 to each mppt, instead the 2 mppt are linked in parrallel, so they do equal load.

The Tools and other D.I.Y bargains thread

Yup 10 cells at nominal voltage og 3.6v = 36v but full voltage is 4.2 which just so happens to be 42v with 10 cells.

It's amazing how much heat one generates while riding, especially spirited riding. Even with my summer jacket which lets everything through I still end up roasting even when the outside temp is average.

Was speaking with some colleagues yesterday and I was shocked to hear it was 36. While here in JHB my office was getting chilly in the early morning so i turned on the heating.

MWEB fibre relocation nightmare – no internet since 26 Feb

So glad i left Mweb back in mass migration of so called "power users" when they imposed a soft cap on their uncapped ADSL. Been with AFrihost ever since in multiple locations on multiple FNOs no issues.
