The Workout and Fitness Thread

With all the kek going on you can't deny we live in a beautiful country!
I tell my colleagues and family that exact thing each week. I love this country.

I absolutely love the sunrises I get to see on the mornings I leave when it is still pitch black.

I am in a very privileged position to travel a lot for work and see a large portion of the country on a monthly basis.

I also get to meet people from every part of the country. Just as beautiful as the scenery. And it really is only a very small percentage of skerminkels making it unbearable for the rest of us.

But I do have a peculiar soft spot for the Steelpoort area. Because of the scenery and the people.

Agreed, my wife and I can leave in a heartbeat if we had to. But we gonna stick it out as long as we can not looking or wondering what life could be like elsewhere. When we traveling overseas I know in my bones I miss my home in Africa/South Africa and im happy to be home when we get back.

I cant expect any change to happen anyway if im not willing to be a part of that!

We try and hike and see as much of this and other countries as possible and its really another world!

Simply cant get enough!

If you wanna see beauty I cannot recommend hiking enough and you dont need to do multiday hikes all these are single 8-16km hikes and you can truly see what a beautiful country we have!

Weight-loss aside managed to loop one belt loop down today!

Actually had to double check :)

A little concerned about my formal clothes tho, go in to the office infrequently and my pant legs are getting tight, shirts also a little tight across the shoulders back etc, what do you do buy a few sizes bigger and get it tailored? Usually go with ww, country road and trenery for formal work wear.

Not todays problem but wondering...

Today's workout, some VR (Pistol Whip) and Elliptical. Tomorrow will probably be a chilled day and then some running on the weekend if the weather permits, otherwise it'll be a treadmill run.

By the time I'd lost some serious weight I had to buy quite a lot of new clothes, especially pants, jeans, shorts and belts.
I get away with wearing oversized or "baggy" shirts, but any new shirts I buy are smaller. Formal wear wasn't \ isn't really an issue for me, even if I do go to the office, the dress code is pretty relaxed. A hole punch has become a must-have, as every time I put on a belt I have to punch a new hole to make it a bit tighter.

Interesting that you use kilojoules instead of calories. I don’t think I’ve seen anyone use kilojoules.
Can't remember why, I think two or more of my devices / equipment was set to kj by default and "calories" seemed to be specific to America.

I prefer kilojoules as it is easier to correlate with what I eat VS how much I burn.

The race today was an eye opener - I am in no way fit for CTCT in a months' time - will need to work on that. Only after I started drinking Rehidrat one hour in did things start to go lekker.

A full 8 minutes slower than last year, same route, but last year I was on my 29er with lockout suspension - so I'll blame the bike for being slower :sneaky:

I am 100% off this weekend doing some beer brewing.

Double batch of saison brewed - 7 hours later feels like a work out cant wait to give it a shot in a few weeks time!

If anyone is interested we still got some left over stuff from our gym, trying to get rid of a squat rack (R1500), Hex / Trap bar (R1k), some weights (10 and 20Kg's for the trap bar) and a cable cross over (22k with delivery and setup)

Other small odds and ends as well, and then the proper commercial treadmills and stuff (which are beyond the budget of most home users)

Month 2
Week 1 5/4
Week 2 5/4
Week 3 1/4

The additional shoulder work is adding about 10-12 minutes 3 times a week but I can already feel them getting stronger. Another day done and dusted!

Lets do this!!!!

Aaaah... Good to be back under the bar after a week away.

Struggled slighty with my first few reps for each exercise but adjusted quickly as memory kicked in.
Ja well look at the beautiful surroundings you had to deal with tough life ;P

Welcome back though!
