Hersh made that insinuation. But if that's true, he's more likely to be a Russian plant if we want to follow Hersh's BS.

I don't claim any first-hand knowledge about the habits and characteristics of Russians or Ukrainians, my opinion of their actions is informed by the evidence that has been documented through countless sources and evidence. If I make a statement, I am more than happy to provide evidence to back it up.

I certainly wouldn't be stupid enough as to make a sweeping statement about the news viewing habits of Americans without a supporting source to back up what I said. Hence the reason why I asked how he could be so sure of that pronouncement given the massive variety of income and education levels found throughout the US.

I could understand if he had done first-hand experience, it certainly wouldn't prove his point but I could understand him thinking that as it's easy to assume that the entire country might be like the part of it you experienced.

So my question i , why are you so worked up about my asking him to provide some kind of rational reason for the statement that he made?

No that was Hersh and his source. Read the paragraph I quoted.
