Insurance companies answer questions about alarms and battery backups

"Britz said these battery backups could keep alarm systems online for at least three to four hours, provided they are serviced regularly.

“In lower stages of load shedding, the additional backup time any backup system would offer is therefore not significant,” he added."

Britz is clearly a poepol. The standard 'approved' batteries for an alarm system cannot deep cycle and with load shedding as it is these lead acid batteries last less than a month. If you don't have another backup you then need to fork out for a lithium. The cost of protecting yourself in SA is just getting ridiculous. If I wasn't paying tax I'd say cool but WTF man, we just have to pay more and more and get less and less. These insurance companies have only one mission, try to make you out as a criminal and get out of a claim.
