Looks like they haven't had enough power to pump water back overnight over the last 3 days, other than that, just normal days of our lives soap drama:

This shows how resources were used to build-up the demand over the past 7 days, and it includes both generation and demand side resources that Eskom has contracts with.

We have discovered that some areas enjoy load shedding immunity as they are zoned as critical. Now normally critical infrastructure is exactly that, water purification and that sort of thing. But our municipality decided to zone areas where their upper staff members live as critical, leaving both infrastructure and important services to fend for themselves.

I love how I must provide proof and when I do, I still get shot. Firstly, If I tell you what area, you know more or less what area I am in, secondly I doubt I have the right to disclose anyone's physical address on a forum. So yea, take it or leave it. But I believe the local newspaper was walking around asking questions, and maybe they do a story on it. We will see.
